Thrill Gardens
« on: May 10, 2018, 05:35 PM »
So, I'm starting a new park, titled Thrill Gardens.

Here are some pics I've taken so far.

This is the first part of the entrance I've worked on.

Here's the Information/Guest Services building

The interior of the building.

If you're wondering what this building is, this is the restrooms building. Also, ignore the Frontier logo on the wall to the left.

I added in a carousel ride. If you're wondering why I named it "The Magic Roundabout", it's because this ride pays homage to the classic stop-motion series of the same name. Also, the colors look pretty similar. Does anyone agree with me?

Behind the Information and Restroom buildings, and west of "The Magic Roundabout", I added in a double Inverter ride called "Scream Machine".

Next ride across from Scream Machine is Revolution, built by Chance Rides.

I added in a Starbucks near the carousel.

The seating inside.

And how about a night shot?

I don't think I've seen you show any of your work here before. Glad to see you finally showing off a project. So far, it's nice and simple. A good start, but since most of the pics look unfinished, I'll hold off giving any criticism until things look more finished. One thing you might want to think about is how this compares to a real theme park. For instance, the queues have very bright colored paths, which looks unrealistic. And hopefully you'll add some covers so the peeps stay cool while waiting in line.

It's always interesting to change the color of the queues. I usually do that to match the color of the ride's colors.  :)

And here's another dining area. I am naming this one Starlight Cafe, which sells cookies, hot chocolate, and toffee apples.

The second interior of the building.

And finally, another night shot.

Around the Starlight Cafe is Ferry Voyage.

The queue line goes around the building.

Now for something fun, I added a cool tire swing ride called "Lake Swing".

I had a little issue with the park file, it said "This save needs the following (non-installed) add-on packs." I apologize for any inconvenience.

So, I managed to fix the file now, and it's working again!

So anyways, I added some new kiosks. And yes, they look like ones from Epcot!

First up is the Cool Wash Pizza. This was my attempt at trying to recreate it.

You can download the structure here:

Now over here is the Cool Wash. This is where peeps can get refreshing Coca-Cola.

Even the nice mist can provide a way to stay cool when out in the sun.

And now, here's a closer look at the menus:

TALLY-HO! Here's a new update! Behind Accelerator, I am adding a children's area, called "Nature Cat's Adventures".

Here's some progress I did:

Here's the first ride here, called Nature Mobiles. As seen in the last pic, it goes around some trees! Perfect circuit around!

Next up, slide on down the Nature Slide! WHEEEE!!!

Also in the Nature Cat area, is a playground for the little ones. This is also a perfect representation of Sunset Park, as seen in the actual show.

I like the amount of updates you are posting. The development is great and I know you are going to grow within your designing capabilities as this project progresses. I am not going to nail you with a bunch of things quite yet because there is probably a method to your "madness." I will suggest to use the David Walsh cheat and CTRL + U to get rid of the in-game menus in your screenshots, but that is up to you. Overall good work!

I'm going to contradict cody a little bit. While I love your enthusiasm, it's better for the forum format to hold off until you have more to show and collect everything into fewer, larger updates (though not too large, since too many pictures will slow load times). Remember that this is less chat room and more blog in style.

I will say, though, I am interested in this park. It's certainly a relief from the barrage of Disney projects to see something new. I can't wait to see how it all progresses.

This is a throwback to the early days of RCT3 which isn't a bad thing. I would recommend posting a couple days a week with what you think are your best shots so we can get a better idea if what is going on. Your enthusiasm is differently nice to see but make sure you group stuff together so it can load for us. :P
