Grizzly Forest Adventure Park: 3/17- Download Today!

Well, another day, another park to transfer over to SGW.  This park has been going for a while, and I finally jumped in today to do some work.  I won't show you that; rather I'll do my best to give you a brief look at what's been done so far.  The park is large, so just hold tight while I get you up to speed.  I had a story at Atari, but I'm dropping it...I'm not feeling a story with this park.  So, yeah.  On to pictures, eh?

Here's the entry way.  The train occasionally passes overhead.


Upon entering the park, it's clear why it's name Grizzly Forest.  Buildings are shrouded behind trees.


Standard buildings: lockers and bathrooms.


This section of the park is the oldest.  As such, it has a collection of older rides.  Jack Rabbit is a cute little ride.


River Runner is the park's oldest coaster.  Designed in the 1970's, it was one of the first Spiral Lift coasters in operation in the US, and is one of the last still operating (the Whizzer at Six Flags Great America is another).


The patrons of GFAP are very proud of River Runner.  It has stood the test of time as it still makes runs through its (by today's standards) tame course.


After the entrance area, there's the Oktoberfest-colony area.  Imagine an area of German colonists who settled in the mountains.  Oh yes, they're celebrating Oktoberfest.

It really is a beutiful park. Realistic, detailed and has a great atmosphere! I loved dastier, Bushido and River Runner! In fact I loved this park so much, that the park I'm working on is partially based of of this (and Verden Gardens). I was sad when it stopped at Atari, but now I feel like a giddy little girl!

Yes, it's finally here! This was definitely in my top 3 favorite parks over at Atari, and I'm glad to see it here, too. So are you bringing this back with regular updates, or are you going to leave us hanging again? Anyway, you've picked a great theme that you've conveyed very well, it's absolutely beautiful! I was always working on this park, but never made enough stuff to be postable.  The next addition is a HUGE undertaking.  I'm not going to completely spill the beans, but I'm venturing into an area of RCT3 that I've never done before, and I want it to be legit...not just a half-assed attempt.

I always loved looking at this park over at Atari. I just love the feel of the park becaus eeverything fits so well with everything else around it. The colors of the landscaping are just beautiful!

^ Well... Masked wasn't exactly active around here until lately, and when he was, I don't think Charles was here.

Now then... can I ask which park is getting more attention at the moment? Are you spending your time on this or Dingo Dunes?

As of right now, this is in the forefront.  The euro took a lot of out of me in Dingo, and filling in the Outback is rather daunting.  I'm working on completing Oktoberfest and Cedarton, then I might put up a download for the front half of the park...but shhh, don't tell anyone.

Overview Part 2
Oktoberfest

Well, time to look at another area of the park.  I'm still trying to find a good name for this area...Oktoberfest just isn't cutting it.  Suggestions?  

Anyway, in the park's history, this area was designed and opened in the early 80's.  It is the 3rd oldest area in the park. (Entrance-1964; Cedarton-1776)  It has 7 attractions and features an Arrow Corkscrew coaster with interlocking loops.  The idea behind Oktoberfest was to pay homage to the first settlers in the area.  Grizzly Forest is supposed to be in the foothills of the Rockies in Colorado.  In this fictitious area, German immigrants first inhabited the area.  Oktoberfest was supposed to represent their annual harvest festival.  Their architecture is a mix of rustic Rocky Mountain and classic Alpine.  Hopefully, that was conveyed.

Along the water in this area is a chairswing ride.  Also, Dastier's bat-wing element flies over the water, and actually interacts with it, sending jets spraying.

What would an Oktoberfest inspired land be without a brewery? This brewery is the main restaurant in the area.  It also houses a rotor in the back, which is why there is that queue on the left there.  Outdoor seating is always at a premium!

If you were confused about where everything is located, don't be.  Above is an overview of the area.  The building on the far right is the train depot.  Next to that, with the large tree, is a children's play area.

I remember watching this park on Atari! It was probably my favorite at the time. The area you just showed looks very cool! I absolutely love the architecture in this area, especially for the restaurant! Dastier is a very cool ride! I love the layout and how it interacts with the area! I can't wait to see some more areas of the park!

Actually, I think a more rustic approach might give that feel. For me, the name Grizzly Forest conjures images of a park embedded in a forest, sort of like Crow's team from the SS '09. On the other hand, given the basis of the park (which I believe was explained at Atari...), I've accepted that this is the other approach in which the name is due to the back story as opposed to the theme. Now I just sit back and watch the magic unfold.

Hmm... I can't seem to find it. I guess I mixed this up with another park. It's clear that you were going with the guest-photographer bit... but somehow I also got the impression that the park was a small family park that has expanded over the years. Still not sure where that notion comes from. Eitherway, I never really question the theme anymore.

^The name of the park is Grizzly Forest, there's forest everywhere...there's pines used throughout in conjunction with deciduous trees.  I'm rather far along to completely revamp the 'feel' of the park.

Also, the two parks you named are completely different, in different parts of the country, with completely different features and climates.  Which one?  The geothermic-inspired high-mountain Yellowstone, full of pines, and essentially not much else, or the valley that is Yosemite, with its huge peaks and much more varied climate/foliage?

^^ LT, yeah, that's right...the history of the park is deep and rather convoluted.  I'll spell it out more in the next update.  It started as a small nature preserve area with a train through the forest and lakes.  As is grew and experienced a wealth of income, it expanded into a full-fledged amusement park.

Masked, I would absolutely adore it if there were some Yellowstone features in the park. I also think you would enjoy playing with fountains.
