Cafe.Naver File Downloading Tutorial
Post #1     : March 10, 2013, 06:10 PM
Please forgive any mistakes that you may note. This is my first attempt. I am not a Techie, and my experiences are extremely novice with most programs.

Some members have asked for a tut, regarding Café.Naver file downloading. So here is my humble attempt at providing the community with one. Will supply a link for a pictorial pdf file. And a link for a rar file containing both a text and the pdf. In this first post.

In the second post I will use the text file, and include the 11 pictures from the pdf file. If you wish to host the pdf or rar elsewhere, please freely do so. Hopefully Café.Naver, will not re-vamp their site to null this tut.
The text was an after thought. When I realized that the text I added to the pictures, would not be translatable.

                       Cafe.Naver  File  Downloading
                                An  RCT3  Tutorial
                         by Gravquian  (03-09-2013)

This tutorial, should be helpful to those who are not familiar with
the Korean webpage: http://cafe.naver.com/rcdb . This text file(s)
are for use with the pictorial pdf file (of same name). I do hope it helps
people who are unfamiliar with downloading from Cafe.Naver pages.
Most of my comments are in yellow text.
If you are translating this page (from English), I do hope that the
comments make scence. Basically, I will reference a picture in the pdf
file, and try to cover the remarks. Thank you, for allowing me to attempt
to help.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Pic 01:
This is a partial view of the title page. Note that the full address in the
search bar is: http://cafe.naver.com/rcdb.cafe . If you are not accessing
the site by a direct item-link, this is the best starting point.
Also, note that the Search Box, has been pointed out. English text will
work in search. Although, "Ody" may not get results for "Ody's". And upper
case text is not required.

Pic 02:
Scrolling down the main page. Here are two database links. The first one
marked, is for CS (or cso) objects and sets. The second marked link is for
Ride (cfr, ctr) items.

Pic 03:
Here, is shown links that have icons. You will have better luck downloading
from these page links, that have these icons (and the green numbers following
them).  In my opinion... the "tree" icon means picture are shown. And the "disk"
showing it is a download. But you can try to access any of the links. Please do
not be angry, if you are unable to view destination page.
{ I have a habit of opening links in a new window. }

Pic 04:
An unviewable page. Note the message bar at bottom. If you "ok" this, a pop-up
will then be displayed. It will ask you for "your" member id, & password. As I am not
a site member, I just cancell the request. And go try another link.

Pic 05:
Here the yellow arrow indicates the "true" page address. If you wish to share the
page with others, use that page address. This will take you directly to the wanted
item (or set) page. You will need to hand copy it. Usually "copy" is disabled. See
"pic 11" on bypassing the "no copy" setting.

Pic 06:
On this particular page, the picture was able to be "right click". The white text is
the picture link via "right click", then "properties". You would be able to save the
picture for future reference. Or, add it to your zip/rar folder.

Pic 07:
   On this page.
This file happens to be a single Zip file. By clicking the red "download" box (on the
actual page), the options bar will open, at bottom of screen. Zip, or Rar files, will
normally only have 1 box (red, or green). See "pic 08", if the box is nonfunctional.
An ".alz" file will have multiple boxes. And all boxes/parts are needed. More info on
alz files to come. Or see "pic 10".

Pic 08:
Some items/sets have an additional (or alternative) download button. Near the top
of the page. Note the small green number, and the little (down) arrow button.
Clicking the little arrow, drops down a menu bar. Note the yellow arrow pointing to
the "pc" button. Click the "pc" button to download the zip or rar file. Note that alz files
may optionally be available down page. But not normally.

Pic 09:
Here is just an alz example. Note the 3 red links. All parts are needed. Or the file will
not "thaw" correctly, or work. This page also shows you to place the thawed contents into
the style/themed folder. Very few pages give you this information. Appearing to assume
that you already know that.

Pic 10:
Here, is another example of a mutlti-part alz file, for download. I added the info in the
picture box for reference.
To handle the ".alz" files, get the free 60 day download of ALZip utillitie from
http://www.altools.com . Like the WinRAR utillitie, you can still use it after the free
trial expires.

Pic 11:
If you want to save a picture(s) to a zip or rar folder. Try to right-click on it. { I like to do
this, so that I have reference to set contents.}
Some sites block you from getting copies of the pictures there. The way around this is very
simple. Move your cursor to a screen spot where there are no text or picture. Right-click, and
select "translate with Bing" (or what ever you have). When the new screen finishes loading. Then
you can scroll down to the pictures that you want.  Now you can copy and save them. Now you
will have reference picture(s), and/or sample builds.

------------------------------------------------
Hope this tutorial is of help to some people... :)
Happy Gaming !
