If you're thinking of Volcano Bay it's already under construction just south of the two existing parks.

I've read a few mentions that Universal might look into some sort of transportation between the current parks, the Wet n' Wild site and this new land purchase, much of it speculation that it would be a monorail that could run down Universal Blvd, but I'd have to wonder at that.  Disney hasn't expanded their monorail system because of the high cost per mile to construct.  Although the distances for Universal would be a lot closer than how Disney is spread out...

Fine, Marvel gets replaced with Jurassic World to keep Park and World close to eachother.  New land for Nintendo Park.  Water park attached to Nintendo Park, with a resort hotel, of course...
something something something dark side...?

Truth about marvel - Universal can continue to use rights to Marvel Characters east of the Mississippi and as long as they maintain the land (this is in contract as Islands of Adventure is east of the Mississippi)

Disney runs a full monorail system to connect three hotels to only one park. Not to mention it runs another monorail literally right next to it just to transport guests across a small lake that could easily be crossed in about 10-15 minutes by foot. It's a high cost but I don't think cost efficiency played a role in the decision. When else do you get to ride a monorail or even a train for the that matter as a legitimate form of transportation? These monorails help create that feeling that you're in another world. Riding a bus or driving a car between parks reminds everybody of their daily lives. A monorail is something unique and is a bonus to the whole atmosphere of the resort. I can't really see Universal doing anything else except creating a full fledged bus system which is probably going to be expensive as well.

Not surprised - they said they would do such a thing should the Skyplex be approved (which it did)

Universal Studios Hollywood has broken their all-time attendance records yesterday; reaching nearly 45 thousand guests as today, they have reached maximum capacity and are highly expected to be breaking the record set just yesterday.

Yeah, we're entering the off season now. Theme parks are usually busy the first few days of January because of out-of-towners for the New Year and other things like the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl.

Today Universal announced the upcoming "Universal Epic Adventure" Park, coming to the Universal Orlando resort.  Not too many details as of yet, no target opening date, nor list of attractions. Just that it will include hotels and destination shopping, will be five minute walk from the Orange County Convention Center, will add another 14000 employees to their Florida operations with a starting wage of $15.00.  I did hear that Universal is pressing to have the new Virgin train line run close to the Convention Center (and this park) as it will stop close to WDW.

Some analysis of the artwork shows possibly a Nintendo Land, a European Village which may host the Universal Classic Monsters, and are themed to How To Train Your Dragon, as well as a whole new land possible dedicated to the Fantastic Beasts movies.

Not a big surprise, they've already started preparing the land and rumors have been out there for months.

Disney will have to in turn step up their game even after their current projects are finished...
