Merrion Towers - welcome to greece!
« on: January 19, 2017, 09:40 AM »

Hello everybody,

welcome to Merrion Towers, my theme park which is is located in England.

Im a big fan of the real Theme Park "Alton Towers" in England, so this was the inspiration of the name.

The entrance of my park!
It must be a kind of castle.  :D

I want to realize a real park, so i need a cash counter.

I want to design a typical english mainstreet, with timber framed houses (TUDOR STYLE)

In the entrance building there is the monorail station, the queue at the beginning of the mainstreet.
I want to create a typical station atmosphere.

Here the one part of the mainstreet in the night

And the entrance

Welcome to SGW. This looks quite nice so far. It definitely has an "English" look to it, especially with the gardens and topiaries. I look forward to watching this park grow.

The clock on mainstreet makes for a great focal point, and I really like your station interior.  You've got a good knack for architectural variety along that street as well.  Good work!!

This looks very nice! I can see the alton towers inspiration. Looking forward to see how it progresses. The entrance and main street is fantastic.

Thanks for friendly welcome and the comments.  :D

Im a step ahead with the park, so i can show you some more pics.

The second part of the mainstreet.
I want to create a building for a show, so i create a clone of shakespeare´s globe theater.

Another catchy building in the mainstreet, is the brewery

Here is a little overview of the mainstreet

And in the next days, i show you my the newst theme area of my park.
Guess what?!

The buildings are almost big enough to look silly, but right now they're just impressive. It almost looks like a real town square instead of a theme park.

Somehow those rather large buildings... "work." I find if I build structures of that scale on my main street, they often come out looking bland but you have just the right amount of detail to make them feel complete but not chaotic. Very good work so far.

Really liking the look of this main street so far. The Globe theatre looks great!

Just a thought, take it or leave it. Your street looks very RCT3ish in that everything is lined up square. Perhaps you could alter the angle of one or two structures to break up the street a bit? PC gives us that luxury, and you should utilize it.

I'm guessing you are planning a Viking area? Can't wait!

Yes, your right Viking/Scandinavia.
Im an old rct kid, so your right, im not really happy with the end of the mainstreet. So you can see, the building on the left is not completed. Im happy for all advice.  :)

Thanks for all you comments. Im really happy about it.

Welcome to Scandinavia

Today i will present my new theme area. The new area in the park is split in two parts, one is the shopping, eat and drink part (Scandinavia) and the other one is the viking, with the coaster.

So lets start with the first one.

The entrance gate. The coaster "THOR - the VIKINGCOASTER" drives through the cave.

Wanna some ice cream...? here you are right...!
In „SIGUDURS IS HUS“ you get some delicious stuff, and on the sunroof you have an nice view of the Coaster.

In the red house there are the toilets and the blue one is the exit for a new attraction in the future.

For the maritime feeling there is a big lighthouse (WORKSHOP).

The second part of the scandinavia area, you can buy hotdogs or some souvenirs.

The special building is the Fastpass and Souvenirshop for THOR.

Lets have a look on the boardwalk.

And at least a overview of the first part

Here are some atmosphere pics.

And the IMAGE VIDEO for the new area.

Thanks for your response!  :)

Here part 2 of the area, the Coaster THOR!

To separate the two parts, i create a small gate to the Viking area.
Sometimes its very busy there, everbody want to ride with THOR.  :D

The entrance of the coaster. Thor want to say hello with his Hammer called Mjölnir and his viking helmet.

The next part of the queue, if you dont sell a fast pass, is the bridge with the vikining boat (workshop)

Than the first little cave

In the next cave there a the evil ice giants, muahhaha  :scared:
Thats a part of the viking mythologies

The big station of the coaster with cool effects, you can here the thunder of Thor, if the train arrived the station.

The first part of the coaster track, you pass a little Darkride

If you wanna see the whole coaster track, watch the video on youtube.

And at least a overview of the whole area.

Thanks for your comments. Stay tuned! :whistling:

Wow. This is getting interesting.

I'm a massive fan of bold pops of colour so I really love how you've used bold colours in an area that would usually be more toned down and rustic. The colours really work set against Thor's earthy colours. And the buildings themselves are wonderful. The lighthouse is inspired.
And Thor itself looks like one hell of a ride. I can't wait to have a go.

The pops of color in scandinavia are freakin awesome - really bold primary colors immediately transport you to the far North!

My favorite this has got to be that lighthouse - what a brilliant combination of elements.

Scandinavia indeed looks incredible. I love the Europa Park feeling you gave the area!

The magical update looks so cosy. I love the indoor (?) flatride, the bookshelves are creative!

(Also, Shakespeares Globe looks like the real thing. Great job)
