Yay, more WIP pics of actual WIP.  You do that so well.

^ Thank you! I love doing it, even though its quite some work, and problem solving to figure how to translate your ideas into it.

Oh I like the looks of that!!

^ Wait and see!

These new developments are very intriguing...

^ Thanks, and its just going to get better...

I really appreciate all the time and effort you're putting into this to make it a true story park. I feel that takes SO much more time in Planet Coaster than in RCT3. Everything is looking great and has your signature style to it!

^ You are defiantly right about that. What took a minute to make something in rct3 now can take an hour, if you want to do it right. That is why my updates have been once a week, and also thanks to being busy as well. But the reward is better in Planet because now you can truly realize a potential. Thanks for stopping by!

1963 Fall Construction Update: Is this wood leveled?

Another week and another opportunity to check out on new progress! It may seem repetitive, but to me its never the case! Chilly weather is finally starting to come around, and leaves changing and the landscape of this pier is changing as well.

^ Yes, one of these days they are going to catch me sneaking around. It's worth it! More wood has been added, for whatever it is for...

^ Looks like some strange framework, this studs don't look level to me?!

^ I'm really not entirely sure what this ride is!

^ There obviously is a rhyme and reason for the strange wood work.

^ And finally to end the update, I stumbled upon this rail of some sort bolted to the floor. Reminds me of the rail that the Turn Pike cars ride on. This could be a clue!

I have no ideas for what it will be... which is fine, because the reveal will be even more exciting!

Hey everyone I'm very sorry for the slow updates lately. It's been a very busy month when it came to working and other projects in my life. By the time I get home I'm too tired to work on this. But I do plan on continuing and updating this as it has been a lot of fun building and the reactions have been very positive and fun to read. So no fear, there will be updates at some point of time. Thank you for your patience as always!

Hey everyone I'm very sorry for the slow updates lately.

Don't apologize.  First off, the real world gets in everybody's way.  Second, this is your park---the rest of us are just along for the ride.  It goes at your pace, not ours ;)

1963 Spring Construction Update:

Hello friends; I am writing you today with a new update. It has been a busy fall and winter; as the holidays tend to get in the way for sure! I have even forgotten about the new ride; and have been curious about what Pirate Reef's new attraction could be! So I took the time and I finally drove down to Atlantic City to check it out. And lets just say that progress has been made...

^ Sneaking onto the pier (I didn't get caught!) I couldn't help but notice this new scull addition on the back exit of the Pirate Ship attraction. Its nice to see that they continue to add to existing rides.

^ Here is that new attraction; what ever it is this strange timber fence is blocking our view; I have a feeling its not a construction fence.

^ A closer view; something tropical! Is this a garden of sorts?

^ Jumping onto the pier; this tribal jungle looking building has been built; but what is it for? Is it an entrance to this garden / ride? Only time will tell. This isn't your typical new ride it seems!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello gang! Its been a while! A lot has been going on and honestly I kind of wanted to wait until Planet Coaster had a few more expansions. I was hoping that I would find useful classic flat rides and scenery to use before I tried to make them myself. I have dabbled a bit here and there but I am not like I was when I was in my teens being 27 means a lot of other adult responsibilities, new job, dating girls, and other hobbies like music and being in a band. While Planet Coaster is awesome; it isn't the type of game like RCT3 where I could mess around for an hour and make something fast. Planet Coaster requires a lot of fine tuning, and patience. But then again I do enjoy sharing and creating. I do admire a lot of other parks and creations as well. There are so many talented people making amazing things where I ask myself: "How / where do they find the time!?!" But anyway I thought I would update you guys on what's been going on.

I hope to keep working and building, as there are many ideas and rides I want to make in this story timeline park!

^Thanks Shyguy! It is good to be back; its been busy for me but I realize how relaxing and fun it is to be a part of this community. Yes it has been a long wait. At least it wasn't as long as the wait between the starwars trilogies? :w00t:

^ Thanks for the fanfare! Yes I can't wait to dive back in. I have worked on future attractions for this park here and there. I can't wait for people to check them out!

1963 Spring Construction Update

Work is continuing onto something new? But for what? Its a bit late for a new ride; but owner Will Wright and Engineer Robert Plant are the masters of suspense...

^ Workers inspect the pole to make sure it is long enough.

^ Here at the scene of the crime: err I mean site. Looks to be above the new attraction building. I heard rumors of a eatery. That sounds outlandish though.

^ Now to the goodies; don't tell anyone! This is secret! Now we know why Will Wright complained about this month's water bill.

^ The station area; unfinished it seems but there seems to be a cave area of this water ride; now we know what that building is for.

^ Even with fake foliage and rocks it really doesn't look like that at all! This jungle looks like a scene in the Amazon!

More soon...

That is some fancy fake foliage.  Makes you forget you're on a pier.

Also, I voted for roller coaster because that's just what I want.

1963 Spring Construction Update: What is going on up there?

The past couple of weeks has been active on the pier. Something new is going up!

^ It seems that the poles are for a new building; but for what type of building?

^ Some decking began being laid down for a sturdy floor.

^ A few days later more framework! These workers aren't messing around. I heard that the plan was to build the ride and building at the same time but permits took way too long for approval of another level up. Darn Atlantic City permits!

^ A picture from another friend of mine; his photographs are better then mine; it really shows the color of this new ride entrance way.

^ Another day or two this is what they have finished so far. The roof is coming along; I tried asking but they weren't allowed to say what this building is.

^ And finally I will leave you with a picture of a new sign they put up on the north side of the pier!

Only a month until opening! We will find out a lot! I am ready for the summer; how about you guys?

1963 Spring Construction Update: Odds and Ends

As we get closer to opening day; some finishing touches and extra little things are being worked on.

^ A flat bed arrived with some new lighting. A few workers surround and check it out.

^ The lights are most likely being added to the newer pier portions.

^ Speaking of new things; a Merry Mixer has been put together. This is a new ride for this season; I believe it will be called Hurricane.

^ Lastly a picture of the new jungle attraction; looking nice and colorful today.

1963 Opening Day!

Part 1

It is that time again where the sun stays up longer and the crowds cling to the boards fun the charm and fun of the boardwalk! And of course I am here for the fun and documentation of it all! I have been super excited about the new rides and additions and can't wait to see what others think as well. Now onto the summer update!

^ The morning hours as the guests begin to pour into Pirate Reef pier.

^ But before that lets get a nice view of the pier from far away. I'm still in love with the Pirate Ship attraction; it has become a landmark within its first year!

^ But it has some ways to go before it is as historical as this structure. The Life guard tower is old, and still a jewel of the skyline here...

^ Inside is a bit of fun with the museum area.

^ Meteor is a very popular thrilling option with the teens and adults alike!

^ Photogenic at any angle!

^ I think we might have found out the new ride's name!

^ I'll end this with a flyover picture.

Part 2 coming soon...

I'm thinking back to your RCT3 version and seem to remember lots of signage on the exterior of the pier advertising what was inside.  Cool that you've got that going on again (or maybe not again if I'm remembering incorrectly :P)

Great seeing the coaster and the pirate ship in the same overhead; both are signature attractions though I suspect Jungle Land will give them both a run for their money.  Anxious to see what comes next.

^ Thanks! I am sure you will like what is coming soon!

This is fantastic!!  I LOVE the Pirate Ship so much!!!!

^ Thanks Fisherman! It is always an honor to see you still around; your rct3 rides were legendary and its quite obvious that planet coaster has even allowed your newest creations to become other worldly and very detailed! The Pirate ship was fun to recreate in this game; the grid in rct3 and the use of the mini golf constrained my ability to make it how it really would be in real life.

Beautiful, nice compact layout. Love the roof of the Whip. Very retro looking!

^ Thanks! I love the challenge of fitting things in limited real estate. Thanks! Trying to go for that 60's look.

^ I swear you remember more then I do at times JPAlmighT! I think I did do that because many piers that I have been to tend to do that. Ah; you are jumping ahead haha! Yeah they are totally custom rides meant to really make your imagination feel as if you are a pirate or ect. Well don't think back at the timeline to much because just like movie remakes I have changed things around. You may already notice a few things placed differently haha.

1963 Opening Day Part 2

It is time for us to really dig deep into the heart of the park and explore the newer additions!

^ The Silver Bullet received its own sign and some other added vegetation around the queue. As the owner Will Wright mentioned; we shouldn't feel like were on a pier at all.

^ The Boardwalk CAFE; a much needed addition that many guests complained about not having anywhere to eat or drink. This problem is now solved.

^ Turn Pike's adventure looks a bit different now with the new added gardens and the Boardwalk Café. Restaurant goers can look below at the fun and excitement going on.

^ Silver Bullet riders get a nice view of Pirate Reef's newest attraction!

^ In the distance Meteor Riders enjoy the thrill of a hill.

^ Little Apple is a neat underrated part of Turn Pike; the sound of car horns and traffic can be heard playing from speakers giving riders that New Yawk feel.

^ But back to Boardwalk Café where the shakes are out of this world; and the fries are just right.

^ A few early patrons enjoying a brunch meal.

^ A nice view from up here and a good sea breeze! Lets hope for no seagulls!

^ Never underestimate the Tilt a whirl! The lines are long and for a good reason. Just don't eat before you ride. Same can be said for the Roll O Plane; which was moved to a new location to make room for the new pier additions.

More soon....

I love the concept of the Little Apple segment of the Turn Pike. Honking horns, gears & belts, scaffolding- everything to make a New Yawkuh feel at home. :D

Quote: "A nice view from up here and a good sea breeze! Lets hope for no seagulls!"

But... where's the ocean? Looks like the pier is out in the middle of a sandy desert. Maybe it's just low tide... low, low tide. :P

^ Thanks! I am hoping Planet Coaster releases some new bio dome that is just ocean on one side; one can dream! I loved what RCT3 did with just having a option to remove the background. But the show must go on JB.

Part 3: More fun to be had!

^ The Scrambler is a newer ride brought over to back of the pier. So far so good!

Enter Jungle Land

This year's newest attraction on Pirate Reef Pier! Go on a adventure in the Amazon jungle where exotic animals rule the land; but watch out for the local tribes! This ride is unique as it is a water ride. The props and scenery were built by Bill Tracy and Pirate Reef's team of people. The hardest part with this ride was figuring out how to create a bathtub on the pier that will be sufficient enough for the ride; luckily the Park Engineer Robert Plant was able to figure it out!

^ Many curious and daring guests wait in the decorated line. Sounds of birds and monkeys can be heard making the ride even more mysterious behind the fences.

^ On aboard a log that is; our trek awaits!

^ A explorer looks at a mysterious lion statue..

^ It is best we stay inside the boat at all times or we may suffer the same fate!

^ We shouldn't plan on staying for dessert!

^ Some sculls present a warning for whats to come...

^ A lady pleas for help. Water bubbles behind her; what could it be?

^ The ride surprisingly is long for it's small footprint; it even becomes a darkride at the end in a cave. The spiders have found a new meal!

After a minute in the dark the ride is finally over! I would rate this ride as a 4.5 / 5! They have done a great job with the theming and it is a one of a kind for sure! A lot of fun for all ages!

^ Lastly; I noticed something at the end of the pier. A hint for what's to come? Something western? Well have to wait until next year!

I will post some night shots as well! Be patient!

Anxious to see how you did the body of water that the logs are in... is it a separate body of water from the "ocean" around the pier?  If so, very impressive.

I love the dude getting cooked in the kettle, or is that the bathtub scene you referred to?  It's clever either way.

If I could make a suggestion, it would be with regard to the visible lights along the ride.  Do you have the studios DLC?  If you want your lights visible for that "backstage" feel, there's a spotlight in that pack that looks a bit more realistic and doesn't have the clumsy support handle that feels so oversized in this game.  But all those lights definitely have me intrigued to see how this is going to look at night.

I liked the humorous scenes in the new ride. (I think they're supposed to humorous...) The only thing that bugged me a bit was the spotlights that were scattered about, some seemingly floating on the water. They were pretty distracting. Maybe if you found a way to hide them, like inside rocks or something, it would look much better. Otherwise, a fun looking ride.

EDIT: It looks like JPAlmighT posted the same time I did and also gives good advice about the lights.

It's funny how you guys mentioned the lights. As I was looking at the pictures I was like, "something seems off... " Then it hit me that I should have placed the lights better Haha. It's one of those things you miss sometimes.

What do you guys think of the new version of Jungle Land compared to the rct3 version?

And I basically built a land bath tub and filled it with water. It was very tedious and finicky but it paid off.

So by "bath tub" you mean the body of water that the ride sits in?  If so that answers all of my previous questions.

Unfortunately I have no memory of the Jungle Land from your previous incarnation so I get to enjoy this like a new person.  :D
