Adventureland - Update 2
« on: June 06, 2017, 01:19 AM »
Hey everyone! I've been working on a park for a while now and I thought now might be a great time to start showing some pictures and progress shots. Some of you may be following this already on my you tube channel.

So the first area of the park I've been working on is a kind of fishing village area, its yet to be named.

In this shot you can see Shine Runner, an S&S El loco coaster.

Another shot of Shine Runner, showing off some more of the details.

Here we have a turntable for an unnamed rapids ride.

A look at the rapids rides lift hill.

The parks first large eatery, a seafood place positioned on the lake front called hooked.

A look at octopus bay and the 3rd ride in the area.

Then finally an overview of the entire area as it stands.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to have a look!  :)

Wow… There is just so much going on here… Love all the tunneling, the overpasses, how everything seems to be "in sync". Nice!!

I remember your Mystery Mine from the Beta, I think it was the first project that really showed me what this game was capable of.  But this is the first time I've seen something park-sized of your work, and it's everything I would've thought.  So much to study and take in.  I'm not (much) of a YouTuber but I'll definitely be following this thread for ideas and inspiration.  Thanks for sharing it here!

Looks fantastic so far! The detailing of the area is amazing. I love the way the rapids and coaster interact together, something to distract you while you wait. Fantastic job with creating the illusion of the round rapids station!! I really look forward to seeing how this develops.

Those custom supports are amazing! Reminds me of RCT 3.
Also that rotating station idea is very smart and good looking!

Very good stuff!  I especially like those boxy custom supports.  That really gives a unique appearance.

Spoiler (hover to show)

So I've moved onto working on an Arabian style themed area of the park. I've never actually attempted any kind of Arabian architecture so I've just been kind of winging it whilst taking some inspiration from google  images. In this update I'm mostly just going to show you around the B&M invert as the area is heavy WIP and I've tried to disguise that with these shots  :P

As you first enter the area you are greeted by the coaster wrapped around a couple of buildings.

You get a different sort of view if you enter from the fishing village area of the park.

The ride winds its way over and under path ways as well as through the buildings that line the path way.

I thought it would be cool to have a small fast food place overlook one of the ravines the coaster plummets into.

As you enter the ride, the queue line takes you under the loop. (this area still needs signage and some details)

And lastly I wanted to show you one of the trenches the coaster flies through, these normally give a greater sensation of speed and some great foot choppers.

In the second part of this update I wanted to take you on a tour of Shine Runner and give you a better look at the ride.

The ride starts but taking you over the rapids and dropping you underground.

As you emerge from underground we make our way to the first lift hill.

The first lift takes you about 60/70ft into the sky.

and then hurtles you down a 110 degree drop underground again.

The first element is a giant corkscrew, with some cool head choppers.

After the first MCBR you dive down into a small bunny hop.

Then into a show building which houses the rides second lift.

We then descend another large drop into a trench and into the rides second inversion.

After the rides last MCBR you finish up into a small helix.

And finally approach the final brake run before reentering the station.

I hope you guys enjoyed this update and a more detailed look at Shine Runner. Next update we will have a more in depth look at the rapids ride along with updates from the B&M inverted coaster. Thanks for having a look!  :D

I really like both coasters.  The gnarled tangle of the inverted looks quite exciting and the Shine Runner looks great with the sort of minetrain vibe.  That's a Loony Turns, right?  I find that about the most versatile coaster in the game---so many things you can do with it and it allows kids, too.  And great custom supports for it, too.

This is awesome jake! Those layouts look great and the custom supports on both look fantastic! Love the path interaction. Only thing missing so far is the path details. Lamps, bins, benches, seating, general signage would make this look so so good.
