Xoo [Summer Competition Park]
« on: September 15, 2017, 10:11 AM »

Hello and welcome to Xoo! CTRSind and I's entry for the SGW Summer Competition. Xoo is a celebration of the natural world, exploring the depths and adventures of different ecosystems. The harsh reality of Australia's Outback, the rainy basins of the Amazon Rainforest, and the misty swamps of Louisiana's bayou.

Xoo presents nature through a variety of attractions sure to thrill and inspire you to learn more about the wonder world we live in.

We still have much more to show! So stay tuned! Opening day is almost here!

So much makes this project stand out.  Some of the more clever scenery uses in the competition, and if there was a separate category for "custom signage" you would take the gold.  Great work.

Wow, it's really amazing, so clean, so creative... There are no flaws to discu-... WAIT there is one! There, the speakers should follow a curved line instead of being flat, in order to be a true line-array sound system. :mad:up:

they are curved.

... well... ok... but they are not plugged onto anything. :mad:up:

And I see no drain or water management system.
I'm not sure wherever you got an ADA compliant ramp to get into that building on the 7th picture.
Also, this pointy spike is a safety hazard and could hurt kids.

Gosh it's actually hard to come up with criticisms. :D I guess I'd just laid back and enjoy the beautiful work. ;D

ye of so little faith, don't you see how the path slopes upward to the left of that building?

Alright alright, I wasn't sure neither. BUT, I definitely have a grip from those latest updates: The boomerang is too tall, you shouldn't have to have the tallest straight column. How dare you brake the beautiful silhouette of this Vekoma marvel? (kidding aside, it's actually a quite nice looking coaster, and the single footer lift support structure is neat)

I love the Shoot the Chute, very cleverly done!

Also just visited and wow. This park is oozing with style and charm. So many great little details, and I love your facades/buildings. It's really a shame you didn't finish it (although I 100% understand why!), it would be awesome if y'all can find the enegry and time to make this complete because it would truly be outstanding.

One of the parks I would love to see completed one time.
It seems your incredible talent of both of you has been melted together in such a harmonic way. But your styles fit perfectly together.
Your projects always have a special attention to colors. In Xoo the colors are the reasons that some parts of the park are really alive.
The first view when the file opens up dragged me suddenly in to another world. I can hear the birds, feel the warm and got a welcome feeling in a special way.
Finally I could take a look by myself on your style of architecture. I admire that style since the first time I saw it years ago and it was inspiring to the max to see how you both create such wonderful designs.
My fav rides are the rapids and the B&M.
To see this world complete sometime I can imagine that Koali Beach will have the real first competitor in PC at the moment :P :P

Just beautiful!

Wow, this has to be one of the best parks in PC. It's a shame it's not fully finished, but the stuff that you guys have built is top notch, every single building and ride is filled with detail. And of top of that the park feels like a real theme park. Great work!

I've downloaded and walked through, and my god with the details! Everything about the park is great, but I have to single out 2 things, first is the water splash ride thing using the coaster as the base, it is all designed ingeniously, never would have thought to use the metal gates for drains, and the triggered water effects are mind blowing, my favorite part of the park no doubt! Secondly before I left the park, I realized that one of the entrance buildings is actually an indoor ride, by the looks of the building you needed the ride for activity in and out of the building, and I'm guessing it's some form of theater? HUGELY impressed by that building, HUGELY! Excellent work the both of you

So I took a trip to Xoo, and yeah, I was blown away. Pictures are good to hide unfinished stuff, but nothing equal a real-time tour of the whole place, as it is filled with details, great ideas and amazingly accurate theme park designs.

Some personnal favorites:

- The restaurant with the trays and the tray track, and every other details in here.
- The bridge with barils over the rapids - so Disney!
- The door onto the rockwork of the boomerang coaster.
- The indoor theater with its exists on the sides.
- The control booth over the station on the B&M coaster.
- The bird house and the sounds everywhere.
- All the queue designs, with by-passes, cattle pens, a variety of fences and layout...
- How you took the space within the Top Spin in-game ride base to continue the queue (and how the steps are marked with a yellow line).
- The use of many custom text signs and billboards. That's a pity we don't have the files for the later, tho. Anyway it makes the park more alive.
- The lighting towers.

So yeah, astounding job.

... the river rapids is awfully short tho. :whistling:
