Knott's Berry Farm - Virginia's Gift Shop

Virginia's Gift Shop

Located outside the park in the Marketplace section, is Virginia's Gift...the oldest souvenir shop at the park.

Back in 1938, Virginia, Walter Knott's oldest daughter, set up a small gift shop with a few items on a card table at the north end of the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The shop eventually got its own building, where it sold a large selection of trinkets and treasures, like costume jewelry, perfumes, ceramics, glass items, figurines, and mementos from the Old West.

The shop has come a long way since then. Virginia's Gift Shop is now one of the largest shops in the park.

A colorful fountain can be found at the back entrance to the shop.

There are several large and colorful display windows showcasing the vast amount of gifts and merchandise available within.

In 2015, the whole shop was completely remodeled. The old stained ceilings and floors were well overdo for a refurb, and the kitschy items that the shop was filled with needed to be replaced with more respectable (and more sellable) souvenirs. Part of the remodel included these park timeline murals.

A pair of timeline murals show how Knott's has grown and changed since it was just a little berry stand back in 1923.

Another mural shows many off the park's attractions featured over the years.

A map of the park as it looked in the 1970s.

A painting of a farm worker carrying a crate of boysenberries. (This could be one of the Knott's daughters.)

Another painting of the original berry fields.

Knott's famous preserves are for sale here.

Sitting in the center of the store is this life-size bear, although its relevance escapes me.

Snoopy souvenirs

Tie dye is back in style.

You can still find a bit of the kitsch leftover from the old shop.

Big Foot is here to represent the park's Big Foot Rapids ride.
