Disney Gallery
The Disney Gallery hosts seasonal exhibits showcasing works of art that depict many of the attractions and icons from Disney parks around the world. It originally opened in 1987, in the space above the Pirates of the Caribbean in New Orleans Square. In 2009, it moved to Main Street and took up residence in the old Bank of America building. And then recently, it was booted out of that space to make room for the new Disneyana Shop. It now resides in a corner of the Opera House lobby and has been down-sized quite a bit to fit in the much smaller space.

The current exhibit is "Disney's Steam Trains", which focuses on the trains of the Disneyland Railroad, and the history of Walt's passion for trains in general.

The Disney Gallery now shares the Opera House lobby with the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln show.

The exhibit features prints and renderings of the Disneyland trains, as well as memorabilia shown in the two display cases.

Many say that it was Walt's passion for railroads that was the catalyst for his creation of Disneyland.

The Disneyland Railroad is comprised of 5 different locomotives. Two were custom built by WED Enterprises, and the other three were authentic locomotives that were refurbished for the park.

This is an artist's rendering of the Fred Gurley locomotive, drawn by Sam McKim.

Various framed prints of the Disney trains, from the various Disney parks are showcased on the walls of the gallery.

These locomotives are from the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.

Locomotives from the Paris and Tokyo parks.
