*FIRST POST ARCHIVED*

Hi, folks. Figured I'd post something I've been working on. I've been attempting a recreation of Space Mountain in Orlando and making it look the way it did in 1975, complete with it's original 'Home of Future Living' post-show. It's far from complete but here's a little look at what's been done so far.

I'm having a bit of a problem with ceilings. Right now, it's Moby's Curved Floors but it doesn't really fit very well. In the picture below, you can see I used a bit of DasMatze's Office as a test but I'm not really a fan of it. I don't think it's enough like the real thing and also, I can't find any diagonal station pieces. If anyone can find any of those things, please let me know.

https://imgur.com/fPaIKbr

And of top that, I couldn't find any diagonal ones either. Or at least not any that slope or line up properly. I couldn't find any pieces that resembled the real passageway before the green screen room. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, folks!

P.S. If the photos aren't working, let me know and I'll try to fix them. I haven't figured how to display photos in the threads.

P.P.S If anyone has any ideas for custom scenery to use, let me know as well.

P.P.P.S (That's a lot of P's) This is my first topic so please be nice!  ;)

I love the photos and what you are doing. As far as the ceiling, from what I saw on Google, I would use a white ceiling. Mobys is just fine for the white texture.

It does work actually. Thanks! The only problem is it needs to be able to slant on a slope and when I tried it, it didn't work. Having it steady and putting in walls to connect it is fine but it wouldn't line up with Moby's. Thanks again.  :)

This is pretty cool. Having links to photos is fine, I understand that the sharing codes might be a little difficult at first. Overall, I am liking this. I definitely need some Space Mountain inspiration, so this is definitely a sign I need to start working on mine.

Thank you so much to everyone who's commented. I do think the white ceiling fits a lot better with the 'Home of Future Living' post-show.

I'm also glad to say that I fixed the 'hole in the roof' problem and I've just completed the green-screen room. I'm very proud of how it looks.

P.S. Thank you, cody, for commenting. You're an inspiration for me and I've always followed your park recreations. Thanks again!

Well, things are all coming together nicely. All paths are now connected inside and outside the dome and I'm beginning to build around them. The Star Tunnel is all ready.

https://imgur.com/YbBs2sd

I've always loved those windows.

https://imgur.com/GxaHGDL

But there is one major problem I might need help with. The picture speaks for itself.

https://imgur.com/nRcUVjl

I have been going around the building attempting to bring it to its blank 1975 look, rather than its 1994 'New Tomorrowland' look and while that's fine, the set I'm using has a huge hole in the building where the arcade should be. Covering it up may work but there's still the fact that the exit sticks out like a sore thumb, whereas at the time, it was directly next to the entrance. I could've moved it but here's why:

https://imgur.com/BJnhV9R

...and if I moved either of them, it would then get in the way of something else and everything would go haywire. >:( It's very complicated, so if anyone has any ideas on how to hide the exit more, and/or what set to use, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

 ;)

As I work on trying to make the exit look better, the entrance is just about complete. Turning back the clock and bringing it to its 1975 look was quite a challenge but I'm proud of how it looks.

https://imgur.com/cs0KjgH

Not a lot of pictures of how the lobby looked at that time exist but I tried to make the best with what I had,

https://imgur.com/EfAWvrF

I'm now working on the loading station. Having to cover it up (mostly) from the ride will be hard but it should work just fine.

https://imgur.com/cpWrsk8

It's proved quite a challenge trying to make it diagonal but again, I'm fine with how it looks. (There will be more railings)

'You are clear for launch.'

Miss being able to see the trains above you while you waited for your flight into space? You'll able to again soon...

https://imgur.com/XfFNBMl

Testing is fully underway. The Alpha and Omega sides are synced exactly with each other.

https://imgur.com/aCUAkSz

Space Mountain is 'A journey through time and space. Presented by RCA.' Coming soon...

P.S. As always, if anyone has any suggestions on how to make things look better, let me know below!

Everything's coming together nicely now. The loading platform is now fully complete with all the fencing and lighting added.

https://imgur.com/M1rNuSE (TTA cameo ;))

The flooring in the dome is now starry, bringing a nice atmosphere to the whole thing.

https://imgur.com/HusKSa7

Covering up this hole in the building will be a problem. Hopefully I can find a way around it. I'm also not looking forward to having to place the ride supports for the track. Anyone who has seen lights-on videos of the ride knows that the dome is basically a steel warehouse of supports so trying to replicate it will be hard. Maybe I won't put in as much but I'll still make an effort to resemble it.

Flights into space will begin shortly...

cody, get ready to duck! After looking at at least five lights-on videos of the ride, I finally added the monolith of steel that is the track supports.

https://imgur.com/CwKDQl5

https://imgur.com/femV6LK

https://imgur.com/YkhVB9j

And, to quote a Beatles song, I'm fixing a hole. Well, I already have. On looking through the custom scenery, I found the piece that patches the hole where the WEDWay comes in.

https://imgur.com/spzG2sX

And now, there are only a few more things to do. I need to cover up the WEDWay track,

https://imgur.com/WicVinC

Somehow patch up this area,

https://imgur.com/UYVxGzA

And finish the exterior plaza.

https://imgur.com/qh9L21P

After that, flights to space can begin...

To be completely honest, I don't remember how I did it. I had been trying to do it for years. I think I just downloaded the track for probably the sixth time, not expecting it to work and somehow it did. So sorry I can't help.  :(

This is probably going to be the last update before opening day. The interior of the ride is now fully complete and final testing is underway. Outside, I'm working on the plaza. I probably should've built this first because it opened first but here's the SkyWay terminal:

https://imgur.com/FjFGndl (The paving isn't finished)

The WEDWay track is now fully complete (I'm only building as far as when it turns into the Carousel of Progress) and here's a look at the interior of the dome with lights on:

https://imgur.com/pDtGXEK

https://imgur.com/1EbECRl

https://imgur.com/tBvB59A

https://imgur.com/PotWlYM

And now everything is almost ready. I'm just making sure that everything is final and I'm finishing off the exterior plaza. I'd like to say thank you to everyone who's commented so far and I'm looking forward to sharing this to the world!  :D
