Switch Scenery Items?
« on: September 19, 2021, 09:47 AM »
IIRC (I think I saw this in a vid about 2017) there's a one-click (or close) way to select a scenery item and replace it with a different one from the Scenery tab, in the same position/orientation as the original.  Can anyone tell me how, or did I dream this?

I don't recall any step that would replace an item, but if you place something, then click on advanced move like you were going to make a copy you can instead select a different object from the scenery tab, it will be placed over the original one in the same position usually, and you then click to place it and then click on the original object and delete it.  Maybe someone else know if it's possible to do the replacement trick, I've not heard of it myself otherwise...be interesting to learn!

I don't recall any step that would replace an item, but . . .

Which wouldn't be that much of a problem except I'm replacing green trees with their autumn versions, the two items are the exact same size and shape, selecting and deleting the original is a pain.  But thanks!

Was a pain, but I replaced most of the trees that had autumn equivalents in the scenario I just posted. Again, thanks for your help!

Don't envy you having to do that task, but happy you got it done!

Thanks!  I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
