RCT Community Board / Sending file to a member
« on: Yesterday at 09:04 AM »
When I want to share a file with another member how do I do that?  I don't see the option to attach a file when you send a PM to them saying you have the file they are looking for.  Do you need to send the file directly to their regular email address?  I'm not sure I have the author permission to up load the file to CS Depot and it's an old file I downloaded and don't know how to get in touch to get permission to do so.  I don't want to break any rules.

RCT Community Board / Error Message
« on: August 19, 2021, 08:25 PM »
About a year ago made a park on another computer running Windows XP.  Transfer it to my laptop, running Windows 10 Home version. Tried to open the park on the laptop but game will crash when it tries to open the park.  Running the park through ParkCleanUp and running the park through CleanUp the parkfile, saved the park and loaded it into Park CleanUp and click on Content requirements and get the following error: Reference OVL doesn't exist: tracks\trackedrides\trackctr_pinfariz40_ct\...:\...\tracks\tracksounds\steel, referenced via tracks/TrackRides/TrackTCT_PinfariZ40_CT/1station_data

This ride is in the game, have a saved ride that works, have uninstalled and reinstalled the file but still no luck in opening the park.  I can hear the station sound, car leaving the station as the brakes are  released and the car moves out of the station, sounds as the car rolls through the layout, brakes applied when car comes back into station and stops.  All the sounds are there yet I get the above error message....Anyone have an idea what I need to do to correct this?  Any help is appreciated. The computer park was built on won't open the park anymore either and now that computer won't boot up anymore.

RCT Community Board / Sounds for Wooden Coaster
« on: July 28, 2021, 09:04 AM »
I recently moved RCT3 Platinum game over to another computer and noticed I don't have the same sound on the Wooden coaster, riding and lift hill, as I did on the other computer.  The Steel coasters sound the same as on the other computer. I remember downloading a new file to change the sound for both those in game coasters but don't think I saved the file.  Does anyone remember or have the link to the file?  I don't understand why the Steel coaster sounds okay but the Wooden one just doesn't ..Even the ride sound as you ride the train doesn't sound the same.  Even listening to the game through headphones it still doesn't sound the same....All the other sounds of the game sound like on the other computer.   Transferred from laptop to refurbished desk top.
Thanks for any all suggestions and of course the link, or if you know  where I can find it.

Is anyone else having a problem running RCT 3 Platinum since upgrading to the new version of Windows 10 version 20H2?  I recently did the upgrade, seems I didn't have a choice since the message was my version would no longer be supported and no updates would be given. Since the upgrade, 5/31/21 I have a problem loading the game or most times will not load at all.  Didn't have a problem before the upgrade.  Looking in settings I see the following:
                                  EDITION            Windows 10 Home
                                  VERSION           20H2
                                  INSTALLED ON  5/31/2021
                                  OS BUILD          19042.1023
                                  EXPERIENCE      Windows Feature Experience Pack

Any suggestions to help with this problem would greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Well I see 68 views and no replies so I'm going with the idea I'm the only one having this problem. Backed up Style/Theme,/Custom, Tracks, Cars, Sounds to re-install.  Going to see if un-install and re-install fixes the issue and if so then I'll reinstall the backed up files.

RCT Community Board / New error message for downloaded park
« on: October 21, 2020, 03:11 PM »
I recently downloaded a roller coaster file from this site that was included in a file.  The coaster is in a park so the file is a  ".dat" file.  I ran the park through ParkCleanup, did the "Clean up the Park", saved the file and then proceeded with "Content requirements" " the deep check, etc and was given the "No error" report.  The park was put into the game file, "Documents/RCT3/Parks" but when I tried to open the park the game froze. "Pre-Activate went fine, but "Activate Objects" stopped at 39% and the game froze.  Finally getting back to the desktop I saw, "Missing Animation, BoneShape "front" is missing animations"  This didn't come up as an error running the file through  ParkCleanup. Has anyone else had this error message before?  What file am I missing to correct this?

RCT Community Board / Question on Error Code in Park Cleanup
« on: April 08, 2020, 06:20 PM »
I hope this is the right place to post this, if not mods please move it to the correct place. Thanks   I  just downloaded a park and ran it through the version of Park Cleanup that I have, V 2.0.0 Updated May 13,2013.  I did a  Clean UP and saved the new .dat file and ran it again.  I get the following message: " OVL not found: style/theme/style".   I did get another message, I was missing a custom scenery, found it and put it in the correct file in the game but this message came up again, it was listed the first time I ran the game through Park Cleanup.  Any idea on what I need to do? Thanks in advance for any all the help.

RCT Community Board / Custom Scenery Not Showing in Game
« on: August 12, 2019, 07:21 PM »
Hey guys, I've searched and can't seem find an answer to a problem I'm having with some CS that I've downloaded. I've placed files in correct place in RCT3 Platinum , Style/Theme, I can see them in the directory but they don't show up in the game. Any idea why this is happening?  I've re-downloaded the files, re-installed (deleted the first file so it was a clean install) but still not showing in game.
Also having problems with those files and others that I have and use in the game while running a park file through ParkClean Up. The errors that show up tells me that files are missing that I know are in the game, as I've used them, plus the newer files I've just downloaded.
I thought I saw a post about the problem before but can't find that post and replies now.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance of any help you can provide.

RCT Community Board / Message while trying to save game/ride
« on: September 19, 2018, 02:52 PM »
I uninstalled RCT3 Gold w Wild from laptop a few months ago, the game had all the patches/updates.  Decided to install it again and play. Even with just Gold installed and again trying with original CD copy of RCT 3 I get the following message while trying to save a game or ride: "Failed to open file.  It maybe reset to read only, you may have insufficient access rights, or the hard disk may be full".  Has anyone else experienced this?  Also, now the game flickers while trying to play which it never did before.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I'm running Windows 10, which I had running the game before the uninstall, and have tried running the game using the compatible mode 95/XP.
The error message, above,  was the main reason for the initial uninstall. The game was working fine shut down for the night but the next time I started the game is when the error popped up. I never had the flicker before, this is something that's been added this time around along with the message.

RCT Community Board / Could use some help/advice to correct error
« on: March 31, 2018, 03:32 PM »

Hey Guys/Gals I hope someone can come up with a solution to a problem I'm having.   I hope this is the correct place to ask, if not please relocate it.  Post is a bit long, but just to fill in what's been done.   Downloaded a coaster from another site.  It came with track files( pre built), and custom scenery (footers, supports, brakes, chain).  While trying to build the coaster I get so far and games, freezes and then will crash back to desktop. The track file is fine I think.  I can build the track, open the ride, cars work, no problem.
Now when I try to add the CS I run into a problem.  Footers, okay, supports up to one set is fine and then the game freezes, back to desktop.  I then tried the following: empty park, build track, save game, place footers, save game, start to place supports, saved after each was saved up to # 5 group of supports then game freezes/crash and closes to desktop.  Now I ran the last save game though ParkClean Up, ran a CleanUp the Park and save it as "Clean" and still get the same error message.  I have re-installed the file, un-installed, deleted and re-downloaded the file  but still the same message.    Getting to the message:       "Referenced OVL doesn't exit: tracks\trackedrides\trackctr_firestormct\...'\...\tracks\tracksounds\steel, referenced via tracks/TrackedRides/TrackCTR_FireStormCT/10track_data_[]"

There is sound when I build the coaster and opened it without the CS.  Any idea what the problem is?
Sorry for the long post to get to the error, just wanted to fill in what's been tried so far.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

RCT Community Board / Trouble seeing game
« on: September 24, 2017, 11:10 AM »
First off if this is in the wrong place please move. Thank You.
Has anyone had a problem like this:  Played game with no problem Next day went to play game, it starts to load and then desktop comes up. Click on task bar, game comes up and then switches back to desktop.  I can't keep the game showing, I hear it load and then it sounds like it stops.  Does not appear in Task Manager.  Do not have this problem with RCT 1 or 2, just starting now with RCT 3.  Running Windows 10. Before this started to happen never had a problem.  I have done a system restore but that has not helped even going back to when the game was working fine.  I'm thinking I might have to do a complete restore back to factory settings and really don't want to do that.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. One more thing, can't load game and keep it on screen long enough to see if compatibility mode has worked.

I recently downloaded a park file and when trying to open it my game froze.  Running the park file through ParkClean Up it listed the following error: "OVL not found, track\coasters\ctr_btmrr_track\ctr_btmrr_track".  Now double checking the Atari game file, it's listed, I've used that coaster while playing a game with no problem.  I've deleted the download park file, re-downloaded and installed twice now, also used different browser in case the my normal browser had corrupted the file, to no avail.
Any one have any ideas what the problem might be?  Thanks  for any help/suggestions.

RCT Community Board / CS Depot
« on: April 06, 2017, 08:08 PM »
Is CS Depot down?  Got a blank Home page and nothing worked on the Download page.  I had work done on the computer, tech support and they cleaned stuff up via the mobile access  and don't know if they did something to mess up CS Depot for me. Would be the first time they've done something to hid files pics etc, but would be the first for not being able to access sites.

RCT Community Board / Help with a downloaded coaster
« on: February 15, 2017, 08:44 PM »
Not sure this is the right place to ask this but if not please don't jump all over me.  Lead me to the right place to ask the question.  I downloaded a couple pre-made coaster, from another site, but have also had the same experience with downloads from here.  After placing the footers, supports, etc and then clicking on the track pieces to complete the layout I've found I can't place the entrance and exit other than at the front of the station. This sometimes results in the support going though the walk way or has the train going through the exit/entrance or  walkway.  Is there anyway that they can be placed farther back in the station to correct this problem?
I guess my question is why does someone who makes a custom coaster with other than the track pieces found in the game put the entrance and exit at the front of the station?  Is this something that must be done with custom tracks?
Thanks for any help with this or with an explanation.

I hope this is the correct place to ask this question if not could someone let me know how to move it. Thank You.
I have downloaded a park, installed the custom scenery needed but the game crashes when I try to play it.  I ran the park in Park CleanUp and get 5 error messages, "OVL not found:" and then the list.   The scenery is listed in the game, I have clicked on the scenery, used it in a game with no problems.  Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong to stop the park I downloaded from crashing that needed that specific custom scenery.  I've tried several times to re download and uninstall/reinstall the scenery I get the error message on.  One error message I can not understand, "OVL not found: queue/asphalt/asphalt_stub".  Isn't that part of the original game?

RCT Custom Content / Coasterfreak90 Megacoaster Additions
« on: September 02, 2016, 08:06 PM »
Not sure this is the right place to post this, if not would a mod please move to  the correct place.
I downloaded Coasterfreak90 Meagacoaster Addition from  Placed the file in the Style/Theme folder.  Everything works fine except in "Steeljungle Addition" the game freezes when I click on Flange/Fat Thin and also, Flange Fat Thin Offset.  I get the dreaded "No:SVD For:SID" error.  All the other options in Steeljungle Addition work, no problems. Is anyone else having this problem?  How is it possible for just those 2 Flanges not work when the other 3 type Flange is fine?
In looking inside the file, those two Flange, Fat Thin and Fat Thin Offset are listed twice, first time listed the date is 2/28/2009 and the second time listed is today's date, 99/02/2016.
Any suggestions guys?  Thanks in advance.

RCT Community Board / Missing/deleted rides/scenery
« on: July 21, 2016, 12:33 PM »
Has anyone else had a problem with rides, scenery suddenly not appearing in your game?  Since running Windows 10 I have had several rides not only not show up  in the game, they have been deleted.  Customer scenery has also been deleted and I know I didn't delete them.  Zyned's Crazy Cars was working, finally when I figured out what I missing, and now I can't find the track listed under Other Rides. I've uninstalled, re-downloaded the file several times, all the scenery shows up but no track file.  It's in the Coaster file in Documents, but doesn't  show in the game.  I have had other custom scenery disappear, still listed but invisible in the game, only to show up later, visible now, in the game. It's is me, my computer or Windows 10?  All that has disappeared all worked and was in the game when I was running Windows 8.1.  Been too long running Windows 10 I can't go back to Windows 8.1.

RCT Community Board / Scenery for Hollenblitz
« on: July 15, 2016, 07:15 PM »
Downloaded the Hollenblitz ride and everything seems to be in the correct files.  Now I did have trouble with the My Pictures not showing up, using Windows 10, but have corrected that.  Now my problem is how do I resize the 2 pictures that are to go on the left and ride side of the ride.  None of the billboard sizes in Billboards in the game are large enough.  The largest is only a quarter of a square which is not large enough to fill the space on wall of the ride.  What CS for billboards do I have to download?  Thanks for any and all help

RCT Community Board / Help with Hoellenblitz
« on: March 29, 2016, 12:08 PM »
I hope someone can help me out with this.  Would anyone be able to send me a download of Hoellenblitz complete with the pictures on the front of the ride.  For some strange reason, My Pictures, is a hidden file within  My Documents and I can't for the life of me figure out how to access it.  I downloaded the finished ride but can not place the pictures to go on the ride. Is this even possible, to get the complete ride with the pictures?
Thanks for any and all help.
I did post this same request over in CS Depot.  I hope that's not a problem.
Solved the problem with My Pictures not being in Documents.  Now I have the pictures but they are too small to cover the left and right side of the front of the building.  The larges billboard I found listed only takes up 1/4 of a square  How do I make the picture larger to cover the left and right side of the building like I've seen in clips of the ride on Youtube.  Thanks
