Is there any way to place invisible scenery or track pieces, or is there a mod that allows you to carve out underground tunnels/spaces for scenery placement? I have a couple tunnels I would like to make larger (3x3 instead of 1x1).

Most of the time it's better to sink the terrain to the desired depth, and then work back up to the point where the terrain started, except now it's fake and built by you so you could edit the space beneath it.

I really don't want to do this for this for one particular tunnel in my park, because it's loaded with scenery on top.

Any help would be most appreciated.

A professional looking video, which is harder to do in RCT3 than Planet Coaster (with its many 'follow' camera types). From the interesting camera angles and movements, I can tell that you put a lot of thought and planning into making the video. It's a good-looking coaster layout (and fast!) with its many airtime hills and the surrounding jungle landscaping.

Thanks for this. I greatly appreciate it.

This was a labor of love, and it took me about two weeks of off and on tinkering for me to get it just the way I wanted it. Learned a little bit more about the camera system too. RCT3 was really ahead of its time for people willing to take the time and learn the controls.

i really liked the camera feature in this game. miss that in PlanCo and PlaZoo.

I do as well. It gives you a lot of control as long as you learn how to use the system properly. It's actually fairly robust.

What's hilarious, is that the built in game recorder crashes every time I hit "record", because of the resolution and high number of assets.

But the game itself does not crash. It runs through the camera course normally without slowing to a crawl, as it normally would when the game itself was recording. The game creates a corrupted video file for each recording I take, but still runs through the recording on screen lol. Perfect for third party screen cap.

A very odd and unexpected benefit of pushing the game beyond where it was meant to go.

Thanks for watching!

We need a full reveal, POV and showcase for this ride.

This is too much work to just leave on the table and not share like this, especially after the teaser.

Please continue!

It is a crying shame you haven't gotten any responses yet on your POV video. The amount of skill and attention to detail, editing, creating and refining is sorely underappreciated, in general. Only us RCT3 nuts seem to be able to appreciate everything that goes into these labors of love, and you barely get any recognition for it. Meanwhile, stupid cat videos rack up millions of views. It's a real shame.

All that said, great work on the scenery! It really pulls more excitement out of an otherwise benign track layout. Love the second drop into the rock/river valley! Very neat sequence and a great vibe while riding.

Just have to mention again the attention to detail you've managed to convey here. I can tell this took you a long time to build, detail and film, and recognize the hard work you put into this project. I tip my hat to you, and to the few others here still putting in the creative effort. All of you guys deserve way more recognition than you get. These projects are amazing.

Well done, Wilhelm. Well done.

Excellent work my friend. Really enjoyed the video.

You expert creators always make tracks that look so plain, and then blow it out of the water with scenery and object/terrain interaction. Always amazes me how a boring looking course can become incredible with the right scenery and setting.

16 years for a game is pretty amazing!

It really is. I mean, a lot of games have cult followings, but there's MILLIONS of games that just go nowhere or die within a year, and even less that see an updated version come back to market.

RCT3 really is an impressive game.

Great work on your park btw. I've been lurking on it for a while. Just fantastic stuff.

Just watched the pov. Absolutely amazing! So many twists and turns to make this ride exhilarating!

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. Fast and intense all the way through is what I was going for. The smallest coaster in the park but it really packs in the punches.

Looks like some thrilling attractions! I do see the fantasy aspect in your creation, and it contributes to the amount of thrills in a great way! Well done.

Thank you! A lot of my work is coming up with these wild ideas, and then coming back through with several passes of refinement. But I always like to keep up the speed on my coasters hehe

Glad to see you decided to keep working on it! Excellent work so far!  :)

Much obliged and thanks for the encouragement! Going to try to do a POV and a documentary video about each coaster. I'm super lazy but we'll try for it lol

Well, if you guys aren't going to delete this, guess I'll keep working on it :) Thanks guys, really.

Anyways, here's the first POV of the first completed coaster inside Blackheart's Cove: Nebel Rosa. A few more details can be found in the video description.

PROLOGUE

Over a decade has come and gone since I first began creating in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. The majority of over 1000 hours of that gameplay has been spent in a single park: Blackheart's Cove

This park is the culmination of enjoyment that I've had playing, and while not finished, it's complete enough that I would like to share it with the rest of you. This community is getting a special preview, being the first brand new audience for the newly created youtube channel specifically dedicated to showcasing Blackheart's Cove.

This creation has migrated with me across computers and operating systems. It has seen crashes and virus's destroy it almost completely. The only way I'm able to bring you this park is from a complete reinstall of my operating system, a complete data wipe of almost everything I had and a fresh, brand new install of windows with ONLY RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 installed. The campaign files were lost in the process, but thankfully, all the actual park files still remained and were recovered.

What I bring to you now is everything I've learned about this game. All the little tricks and shortcuts in both hiding and displaying certain scenery and objects, editing, playing with the camera system and using custom scenery... everything I have learned is showcased in this park.

Before previewing Blackheart's Cove, there are a few things I'd like you to know about me and the park itself. I'm more fantastical in my construction and creation, and although I have dialed it back over the years (hitting to something a bit closer to realism), I'd still say there's plenty of fantastical elements involved.

I have tried to find very unique locations and placements for the coasters and their tracks, with a specific emphasis on the ride experience itself. EVERY coaster has been changed and reworked, some over half a dozen times after their supposed "completion". There are still final passes needed on 3 of the 6 coasters inside the park, and several hours worth of detailing work on the path system, field area / amphitheater, shops, concessions and of course, the water park.

What you can expect to come is a series of videos designed to encapsulate Blackheart's Cove inside a viewable media, because after the series is completed, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 will be deleted in order to begin work on my new project inside of Planet Coaster. These videos are more for my own personal preservation of a hobby I've spent WAY too much time on, but I also couldn't help but sharing.

I present to you my last great park inside RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

Have not caught this thread before now, but the amount of detail here commands respect. Well done my friend. Well Done.

Oh, but there is a way! Use Belgabor's Invisible Doodads (found here, if you don't already have the set: https://www.customscenerydepot.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1093). To make the ride base disappear: Replace the path tile that connects to the ride's exit with one of Belgabor's invisible path tiles. Poof! Gone! :)

I absolutely f****** love this community and this game. There is ALWAYS a creative solution to be found somewhere. As soon as I read your comment I knew it would work, as I must have experimented with it along the line somewhere (already have invisible doodads) but never actually used it for any real purpose.

Thank you so much for the brilliant solution. Exactly what I needed.

There is something very special in store for this community. I have been working on this park for over a decade, off and on, and am almost finished. It's a park from the game that everyone knows and it has gone through SOOOOOOO much refinement over its lifespan. And luckily for you guys, I'm very proficient with the camera system and know how to edit  ;)

I need to remove the concrete foundation that appears whenever you place a flat ride. Is there a way to do it?

A part of the foundation is going over a curved edge and the game places a raised platform with stilts. NOT what I want.

22
Yeah, good lord man! Some of the things that can be created in this game... just blows my mind. Very well done! Can't believe this can all come out of RCT3! Amazing.

23
This is looking great man! Keep up the good work. I like the elements the coaster goes through. Seems to be working nicely with teh scenery you're creating. Again, well done!

Are there any sets that deal with custom billboards? I need billboards in 3x1 and 1x3, which the vanilla game doesn't have. Seriously, why not?

If someone can give me the lowdown, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
