Planet Coaster Parks / Rose Lake Park - new things in the 1940s
« on: November 26, 2019, 10:22 AM »
Roses are Red, Lakes are Blue, Something Old, Something New...

What could it be?    8|

Ghost Pirates now available!!  The park file has been updated (make sure you grab the latest user media set.  I added a few new billboard images).  AND, the ride is available as a blueprint (it requires one billboard on the workshop page)!

Park is here:

Ghost Pirates blueprint is here:

POV and installation instructions video:

My top score so far.  Can you beat it?

Hints:  The purple targets are worth ten times what the aqua targets are worth!  The starfish are targets.  And, the ghosts in the rotating tunnel are targets!  The eyes of the skull over the doorway where you enter the ride are a target!  And there's a 100 point target inside the shark's mouth right before you pull into the station!   ;)

Planet Coaster Blueprints / Cherry Picker crane
« on: February 10, 2019, 07:36 AM »
I made a cherry picker crane for Kaleidoscope Piers.  You can use it to rescue peeps off of broken rides, or to change a light bulb or something.   ;)

It uses Cebism's Ski Resort-Pole Toolkit item so you need to subscribe to that or the pistons won't look right.  You get both configurations in the blueprint - extended and collapsed down.

It's loosely based on this one:

Here it is in KP so you can see the scale:

Happy Birthday to my OLD, OLD pal, citytrader!   ;)

I made one of those Haystack Dryers / Family Dryers for your peeps to dry off in after riding your water rides!

The pieces are grouped by type so it's really easy to recolor.

it even has the heat lamps like the real ones!

Planet Coaster Blueprints / Pretty good Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop
« on: December 23, 2018, 07:17 AM »
So I made this yesterday.  It's a pretty dern accurate Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop, made to the manufacturer's original specs.  It is custom supported on the towers and has a mysterious two-sided catwalk ('d he do that?).  Unfortunately, to get it to launch, it does the funky pull back a toy wind-up car.  Hopefully, the devs will give us a proper forward launch at some point.  Anyway, here it is:

Planet Coaster Blueprints / Updated my game prizes set
« on: December 08, 2018, 04:49 AM »
I updated my set of game prizes.  I took out the wooden posts since we can group scenery without them now. I also added better koalas. I made the ears more koala-ish.  The original triangle eared ones are still there though if you like them too.   ;)

Planet Coaster Blueprints / PLANCO-TEL motel
« on: June 24, 2018, 06:55 AM »
PLANCO-TEL motel, made for Kaleidoscope Piers - by Fisherman

Once you plop down the blueprint, dig a hole under the pool and fill it with water up to the deck level.

NOTE:  This is NOT a working hotel.  You must add your own lobby and hotel room cubes.

I used greyandgrumpy's Vending Machines.  Get them here:

I also used UGroove's Ice Freezer.  Get it here:

Community Chat / Omg Lego just announced a roller Coaster set!!
« on: April 26, 2018, 06:51 AM »
I've been waiting my whole life for this!  It even has station gates and a freaking working transfer track!  And an on-ride photo!  A rider is buying a photo and a bird photo-bombed his picture.  That's hilarious.  I already own the Ferris Wheel and the new Carousel sets.  I can't wait!

Planet Coaster Blueprints / Perpetual realistic waterfall
« on: December 10, 2017, 06:58 AM »
Perpetual realistic waterfall made from looping water effects.  No sequencers required!  Just place some "Special Effect - Fountain Splash Large" effects at the surface to finish the illusion.

Of course, this may be obsolete soon with the new Adventure Pack.  But...mine's free!  Ha ha

Is anyone else experiencing skipping and stuttering on video billboards since the 1.4 update?  Midnight Manor is screwed up.  ALL my videos are doing this now.

If you are having this problem too, would you mind adding your input on my bug report here?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

What is everyone thankful for?

I am thankful for my new hubby, Jason...and I'm thankful that the Planet Coaster anniversary update came out while I'm on vacation.  ha ha!

Community Chat / I got married!
« on: November 07, 2017, 03:33 PM »
My partner, Jason, and I picked up our marriage license today.  We are planning to tie the knot next week (on the 5th anniversary of our first date!).  So excited!

Me on the left...Jason on the right.

Wipeout - themed top spin from Kaleidoscope Piers!  Warning!  Your peeps will get SOAKED!  (even the ones waiting in line!)

Get it here:

Video from the queue:

Build your queue like this:

Here is my Bats in the Belfry ride from Kaleidoscope Piers!

Notes:  after building the queue and exit path, delete the orange arrow. Set the friction slider to 0.8 and run 7 cars on the track.

The ride is a zany Reverchon/Zamperla spinning mouse. Fly on a clumsy bat through an old church that's under renovation. Have fun! Use the glowing eyes videos from my Midnight Manor billboard pack so the billboards in the drop tunnel will have eyes.

Get the billboard set here:

POV Video:

Have fun!

Hope everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey is safe.  If you are in it, post pictures or videos and let us know you are safe.

I'm safe and mostly dry with power and food and water (getting low on cat food though...).  Here is the view from my 3rd floor apartment.  That ocean is usually a grassy glade with trees and a small duck pond.

The dog walking swimming area:

Water is almost up to the 1st floor apartments by the pool.   :-\

Planet Coaster Rides / Midnight Manor from Kaleidoscope Piers
« on: July 29, 2017, 07:18 PM »
Midnight Manor is now available as a sandbox park file!

Get it here from the workshop:

Note:  you MUST download the billboard files for the ride or most of the walls will be blank.  Get them here:;sa=view;down=3585

and here:;sa=view;down=3584

Extra sound files are available in a pack here (once it's approved):;sa=view;down=3587

Also, you MUST have both the Back to the Future and Munsters DLC packs to open the park!!

Hey, maybe with the discussion of park meet-ups sparked by the big Efteling group, maybe we can start a thread here where we post when we have a park trip coming up and if people live nearby we can meet up?

If you like the idea, I can start us off.  My partner and I are going to Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld in San Antonio next week.  Anyone live nearby?

Planet Coaster Community Board / red flash on billboard videos?
« on: July 18, 2017, 07:19 PM »
Anyone else having this issue?  I have several looping videos on billboards throughout my ride.  Every one of them but one has a weird red flash when the video starts over.  Anyone else see that?

Here is an example.  The flash occurs at the 26 second mark.

The videos play fine outside of the game so I'm pretty sure  it's a game issue.

Just wanted to start a thread to address the recent issues of corrupt parks and people accidentally saving over files, auto-save not working properly, etc.

First of all...the save window is wayyy too easy to mess up on.  It is SOOO easy to just click the top name in the list to save your file, BUT...the top name isn't necessarily the most recent file!  It's the most recently saved name.  So if you accidentally click that one to save if you have recently switched maps, you'll save over the other file permanently.  This is suck-@$$ user interface design, in my opinion.

Plus, apparently doing certain things is corrupting files.  It is inexcusable on Frontier's part if scenery objects are blowing up people's games.  My game crashes a lot more frequently lately and I have a fancy gaming computer.
___________________________________________________________ hindsight is 20/20, they say, but I wanted to share my saving convention that I implemented years ago when I lost a big RCT3 file.  This method works well if you are consistent:

With every save, I place a number on the end of the name, and with each save I increase the number by one.  I try to save with a new number at least once a day, so I'd only lose a max of one day's work if I save over accidentally.

This simple method has saved me numerous times...and yeah, I've saved over parks before too.

For instance, I noticed that in my Kaleidoscope Piers park file, the cat and mouse silhouettes were missing from the windows by my ride sign.  They were a booger to create and get lined up and I had no idea when they disappeared.  I was able to go back through my previous iterations of the park (ended up going back about 8 saves) and I was able to save those windows as a blueprint.  I opened my most recent save and was able to put them back that way.

Anyway...that's just my two cents.  I hope my method might save some heartache for someone later on down the road.

Here's what my save window looks like now...up in the 80s with Kaleidoscope Piers now.
