Title: C.O.A. Dreamland Kingdom - Ice's Boutique!
Post by: corkscrewloop on May 23, 2018, 07:33 AM
Hello everybody, welcome to Dreamland Kingdom!  :)

After many years of RCT3 playing, and finally during last year, when I started to play Planet Coaster, built my first parks and learned some first skills on clever and good looking usage of scenery, now that learning experience is flowing into this third park, which will go more into details, but still with the aim to become a full park and FPS friendly... The park is inspired a little by DLP, but not only and the focus is on small scenery pieces, own characters and imagineering tricks like forced perspective, etc... I like to build all the buildings and scenery which I use in my parks all by myself, but of course with lots of inspiration from other creations and reality.

So lets have a look at the first new pictures of the entrance and front plaza area:

The sign in front of the entrance.

The small entrance / exit buildings with gates.

The right one of the two passages below the train station. I assume I will add billboards in the future.

An aerial view of the whole front area with plaza, trainstation, wooden coaster on the right and the avenue and castle in the back.

The train station with the front plaza behind.

The iconic light-house, where the wooden coaster circles around.

It looks almost like a racer, but it's not... it just has two lifthills. But with that feature, the coaster gets more ride / brake sections and can be operated with up to four trains.

The whole coaster is themed with a nice New England style and surrounded by the park train, which also drives through that scenery...

One of the characters of Dreamland Kingdom, but there are many more...

Hope you like what you see! Would really love to read any feedback!
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

Wow, that's fantastic!  I love everything but am especially enthralled by the wooden coaster!  That looks like a great ride even without all the gorgeous theming around it.

That custom mascot is GREAT!  Never seen that before.  What's it's name?

I can see that COA still stands for "Corkscrew's Original Awesomeness" :D

Superb!!! Looks real. The captures are so clear. Park looks awesome. I love the mascot.
Funny - I actually was thinking of making some mascots early on when this shapes were added, but never got to iy. I was going to use sports mascots as models.

This is looking great so far! The inspiration is obvious, but you gave it a twist which really works out to give it its own feeling.

Oh wow, thank you all so much for all that great feedback and comments, this is really amazing!!!

That is what I had in mind with the mascots, used all the smallest available pieces:
And it really works well with the vista point in the game, gives a fantastic atmosphere.
I'm not sure on the style of the sign behind, its actually just to show you the names of the three... (guess by color)

I've built more characters for that park and they will be featured then in the attractions.

A lot of greets, corkscrewloop :)

Well, you've got three mascots there and there are 3 letters in COA.  So you could name them Charlie, Opie, and Alex, which are kinda gender-neutral.  Especially as there's no telling if these alien beings even have genders ;)

Thanks Bullethead, great idea... I might think about that.

Meanwhile I continued work on the main street, which is called "Centuries Avenue"... Lets have a look at the main store there, "The Belle Epoque"...

Standing at the beginning of "Centuries Avenue" on the corner, "The Belle Epoque" is Dreamland Kingdom's first and main souvenir store.

The iconic building, built as lean as possible - unfortunately before the latest update, so there are no glass shopping windows... (yet)

The shopping area is located behind five building facades.

Beatiful lit at night, it invites for a shopping tour... especially before leaving the park at closing time... Who doesn't want to take home a souvenir for a great memory. :)

Ok, lets go for a first shopping tour...

The home and decor department, selling mugs, cups, cookie jars, chef's hats, aprons, etc.

There is a passage into the clothes department...

... The wardrobe - here you find caps, princess dresses, T-shirts, etc. and you can also leave directly into the "Centuries Avenue".

Same room, seen from the opposite direction.

The third and largest department is "The Toy Corner", selling lots of different plush, toys in boxes, etc.

The third entrance seen from the avenue...

And again seen from the rooftop of the opposite side of the street.
Notice the forced perspective on the floor levels and also in the Z-axis... The facade distances gets smaller towards the castle...

Hope you like what you see! Would appreciate your feedback!
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

That is a gorgeous building inside and out, and the forced perspective came out very well!  Great job!

But shouldn't it be "La Belle Epoque" instead od "The" ? :D

Fabulous job on the Belle Epoque. It's one of the best shop interiors I've seen.
My only criticism on the last update are the custom trees. Perhaps you could replace the "log" trunk with one of the dead tree trunks instead. Just a thought.

Thank you so much RCT D, yes I tried to use a lot of different objects to give a little variety on the souvenirs, sad is only that Planet Coaster does not offer smaller art shapes.

Thanks a lot Bullethead! Yes "La belle époque" as we would say in french... I used "THE", because I wanted it with an American or English touch in the name... Let's go for a shopping tour at The Belle Epoque... ;)

Thank you so much Shyguy... I got myself inspired by your work of course and also from parks like Nemmie's Lake Euphoria, etc. for the interiors.
Regarding the tree's... You are right, I don't like the log trunk, but its not so easy... I tend to build as real (small) as possible, so there arent too much trunks available:

so I prepared a picture with some examples, these are all dead trunks available...
1 is the current, the others - 2 / 3 / 4 are the new proposals available. The 4 is a mix out of 1 and 3, and then the rest 0, 5 and 6 are just too large... I personally would still choose the log trunk (1), as the others are a little to "wild" in my opinion for an avenue, where I expect perfectly gardened straight trees... But I'm curious on others opinions.

A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

Post by: shyguy on June 04, 2018, 02:24 PM
Yes, I had a feeling the dead tree trunks might be too gnarled or too big. 3 is the best, but it's a little short. Have you tried the small beach tree? That's my go-to tree when I need a small, compact tree. Otherwise, your original trees may still work better. Perhaps simply lowering them a bit, so there is not so much of the straight log trunk showing.

I dunno.  Using French direct articles instead of English is très chic in America, n'est pa?  But maybe I think that way because I live in a place where Cajun "French" is commonly spoken and everybody throws French words and phrases into everyday speech (along with Spanish, Italian, German, 7 or 8 Indian languages, and a bit of Algerian, occasionally spiced with some Tagalog or Tok Pisin).  Nobody can understand each other because most of the time, nobody's sure which language they're speaking ;).

BTW, I like the original custom trees the best.

I am liking how this is looking. I think trees can be swapped out until it finally clicks. I know I am very particular on my style in RCT3, so that often requires landscaping to be refreshed frequently. Just play with it a bit until you fall in love with the look!

You know how much I love this park. I realised I hadn't commented over here yet though.
That shop is drop dead gorgeous. The exterior shots are superb, but the interior is something else. I've not seen anyone try to do this type of shop interior. Little touches like the dresses really made me smile. This had a real boutique vibe about it.
It's like I said over on the PC forums, your building skills just seem to be getting better and better, every time you post something. The forced perspective is very clever.
And thanks for the shoutout. I feel honoured. :)

Thank you all so much, for the great feedback!
I'm still trying on the trees, there are a few new versions which I'm considering to use instead the ones which are currently there...

@Nemmie, thanks for your comment, yes you are right... building skills grow (slowly)... My training was definitely the castle. Almost 4K pieces without interriours, so that was (and still is) weeks and weeks of work, and probably my best building I've ever done.  I hope I can soon show it in detail. The surroundings and interriours are still in work right now.
You know since the release of the DLC's we have much more pieces and its much easier to build things, such as those interriours of the shops...

I'm most amazed on what some people here in the forums are creating, things I'm still far away. I just browsed this morning through the PC best pictures thread... Its fantastic to see what all was built and showed over the last two years... Thanks for inspiring and showing us the way... ;)

Before we go into details of the castle and Centuries Avenue... a few more pics with a little bit of atmosphere!

Corkscrew, everything you make is worthy of the "Best Pictures" thread and I doubt I'll get any dissent on that from the others.  You have excellent taste and style, an appreciation of the proper way things in parks should look, and can form a clear mental picture of what you want so you can then work towards it using your evident skill and familiarity with the editors and available parts.

Ever see the moving Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine and Steve Martin?  You're Michael Caine, I'm Steve Martin :D

That castle is gorgeous. It was well worth the time you put into it. Wonderful update all round, I especially love the first and last pics. And I agree with Shyguy. To say that this isn't a Disney rec, it looks better and more authentic than a lot of actual Disney park recreations I've seen.

The castle is looking incredible. I can't wait to see it up close :)

The mainstreet is nice as well, the buildings fit well with each other and the details on them really pop. I do feel like the street could use some more life. As you said, the current trees aren't the best, so you might want to change them. As Shy mentioned; the smallest Beach Tree (I think Beach Tree 3 to be precise) would work best. Custom trees are hard to do, especially at the scale you are going for.
But besides the trees, the street could use maybe some small plants - either hanging from the buildings or on the street - or maybe some flags, lanterns hanging above the street or between buildings and trees.

Either way, the park is looking great so far and I am very curious to see how it develops.

I've had a thought about the trees. Would it work if instead of using the logs, take a tree with a decent trunk and turn it upside down and sink all of it into the ground except the trunk and then make your leafy canopy on top? The roots would act as the branches which would be mostly covered in shrubs anyway.

A great take on the Disney style but making it your own. While I'm sure you cheated a bit, the pathwork is fantastic as well. Nice and orderly. Also, the interaction with the water in the first set of pictures with great as well.

Thank you all so much for the feedback. I'm also following all your projects here and I'm thrilled and so much inspired by all your creativity, so thanks for your nice, inspiring and helpful comments!  The tree discussion is fun, but very valid.

@BlueSpirit, you are right, I have to add more life to the street and I'm doing it by adding flowers to the street lamps, etc. but there will come more. Thanks for that hint.

@Bullethead, yes I know the movie and I like it very well! ;)

@Nemmie, yes the tree putting upside down is a great idea, but I did not found a great matching one yet...

So here is a little playing with the trees...
The beach tree 3 is much bigger compared to those, especially wider, so it wont fit nicely on the walkway.

Beside that I was continueing on the Confectionery. I will rework the roof of it, as I'm not fully happy with that yet, but that will come later...

Every amusement or themepark has a confectionery or shops selling sweets, so it must not being missed here... The community has built fantastic stuff in that direction which helped me a lot to get inspired.

So here is a little playing with the trees...

If you numbered these versions of trees from left to right as 1-5, I like #2 by far the best.  It looks like a real, live thing and is the appropriate proportions all over.  #1's trunk is too thick for the rest of the thing.  #3 is too obviously fake, with a smooth metal trunk.   And both #4 and #5 will poke somebody's eye out with their dead lower branches.  Besides, those dead lower branches are totally out of keeping with the well-maintained and carefully groomed, prim and proper appearance of this main street area.  #2, however, looks like a real tree in all its parts and proportions, and is perfectly at home in these surroundings.

Beside that I was continueing on the Confectionery....

And a lovely building it is!  I can smell the chocolate from here ;).  Also, those bags on the hook are excellent ;)

Thanks to all of you for your fantastic comments, the community here is amazing, and I follow so fascinated the challenges in the summer competition here, which is just fantastic to read and look at the pictures... Ok, but yes summer vacation is over, and beside that I rode my first real strata coaster and now back on a lot of work I've also restarted coaster gaming... Of course I checked out the latest Planco update and must say I love it, but that also means I have to rework a few buildings on the main avenue... But that at another time...

So what about a bunch of new pictures from my current project? :)

Lets first greet with the characters posing on entrance plaza for a nice picture. I actually really like the new color filters and effects, for making pictures its really cool feature... So what do we have here... Fairywitches, trolls, dwarfs,... and the mascotts of course. All of them are going to be found in or around the attractions later. ;)

I really really like this kind of park. Everything is really well made, realistic and I like how you achieve to create your own thing despite being clearly inspired by DLP.
Your approach reminds me of a parks I really liked back in RCT3 Days, it was called Thriller Park & Miramar Park, and it was very good (the guy did a bunch of park of this style, Thriller Park, then the studios park and the European resort)

Thanks so much, wowmanrct. To be honest I so much like the fact, that you've started a Renee Feu park now, and I'm so curious to see, how it will look like. :D

Thanks a lot JB for the nice comment. I actually hesitated with the northern lights... as I'm still not convinced myself if that is the final version of the entrance (at least on the sign, I think about a custom version). But its good to know, that you like it, so that means overall the concept works...   :)

I really really like this kind of park. Everything is really well made, realistic and I like how you achieve to create your own thing despite being clearly inspired by DLP...

Thanks so much Neitsab! I just checked out your WB park... Man that is a beast!!! :w00t: This is so fantastic work! :) I was thrilled when I went through all the pictures. I once visited WB Madrid and you nailed the atmosphere so perfectly - even better! Oh and the video is beautiful and so nice! I'm still amazed what was already possible in RCT3 (even I never was able to produce something great out of it...).

I LOVE the castle! You can clearly see the inspiration but that isn´t a bad thing. You took it and made it your own. The fairytale area looks promising, I can´t wait to see more of it :)
Thanks so much BlueSpirit! - Did I mention that I'm thrilled by your Adventure Bay? The imagineering work there is soo amazing, the realism is breathtaking! Really inspirational!

Wow, CorkScrewLoop, those pics are beyond beautiful!  Fantastic work!  Be sure to upload your incredible collection of characters and mascots, too :)
Thank you so much Bullethead! Well that collection is not yet complete  ;)... And if I would be only half as good in writing as you, I would have probably done a tiny tutorial on how to build such stuff. :)

Thanks again to all of you for the nice comments, its really encouraging to keep on the work!
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop! :)

New plans for Dreamland Kingdom... The wooden coaster will probably be removed. It just does not fit there and the coaster-entrance building etc. is horrible in my opinion, so I want to remove it. But of course it needs to be replaced with something. Recently our creative team started to imagine on a new transport ride for DK...

We will get an Electric Railway... A Tram with stations, track etc and a depot building where the former entrance to the wooden coaster was...

Don't worry too much about the track and the overhead cable... This is just concept for the pictures. I'm not yet sure how the final track will be (elevated on steel supports or in the middle of the avenue - who knows... These pictures are only meant to show the train.

It is a narrow gauge (1m) size coach with interriours, each is 7m long and 2.2 m wide. A train consists of two coaches. It also matches the size of the Planco Connie Express, so we can put it also on that track... ::)

Thanks to the mouse hunt supports and the transparent glass pieces, such "buildings" become possible now in Planet Coaster. It's just so sad it can't move like a real tracked ride.

Doors can be opened (manually shifted / moved). (They are seperate buildiings)

The passanger view...

I will also rebuild it as single coach type, etc. Further version could be with the pantograph removed and being exchanged by a collector for connection to a third rail... etc. I'm also not sure about the color. I sometimes think of changing it to blue.

But color doesn't matter at night... It looks nostalgic anyway.

Hope you like what you see! Would like to read your feedback!
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

Wait a minute. At first I was thinking, does PlanCo have a trolly ride that I don't know about? It's just perfect and looks just as good as any of the vehicles made by Frontier. Really excellent job!!

Post by: corkscrewloop on September 26, 2018, 05:55 AM
Thanks so much for all your great feedback! Now, the single coach tram is coming... Time consuming work... But the result is looking good I hope. ::)
Here is the single coach tramway, inspired by a mix of different real life trolleys from different cities.

This time I built it more modular, so the bogies are seperate buildings. I did that because I found out its much more convenient when you want to place it on a curved track, as you can then turn easily the bogies, so they match with the curved track. And in case I build a better looking bogie, or a normal gauge one, it can be exchanged very fast.

The coach is completely reworked and inspired by several real life trams.

I plan to make a blue/cream colored version also.

the single coach train has two pantographs, for each driving direction.

the drivers view... Also the console is on both sides.

the passengers view, we can have 24 passengers.

Tram passing Centuries Avenue, at night. I like the atmosphere. :)

Thank you so much Nemmie, nazmakhan, Bullethead, Mackie1985 and LuxDreaming for your fantastic feedback!  :)

And that's how it continues...

Putting the track and overhead wire in place...

The central plaza. No wires here in front of the castle. This part of the track is reserved for a horse drawn tramway... In case we get a good looking horse one day.

But other parts of the park develop also, but slowly...
Forget the lantern... its just a placeholder for new designs... Here we see the hidden entrance to "Northern Lights"...

And one of the characters from C.O.A. Boulevard will return in a new tracked attraction.

Last but not least a first view to what's behind that wired fence in "Fairytale Kingdom" park section...

More to come...

I'm pretty sure we'll get a static horse fairly soon after TMT comes along.  Fisherman showed me this awesome unicorn he did for RCT3 so I doubt it'll be long before he updates it to PC.

Every update amazes me. That Parisian scene is just too cute.
As for the track, how about matching the colour of each section to the floor colour? That way, all the attention will be on the scene and it'll feel more immersive.

Great idea for a ride. I don't know how much room you got but if you got any,  i would definitely try to see what the tower looks like if you place it behind the buildings and a little higher to add some depth to the scene. Maybe add a fountain to where the tower is standing now. Just something to play around with if you got any room left. I am looking forward to seeing more countries on this ride.

Thanks so much Nemmie, you read my mind... of course I have thought about that and tried... Unfortunately you can't recolor all parts of the track. It stays grey on the sides and also burying the track does not work (at least for me..)

Post by: corkscrewloop on November 18, 2018, 03:29 AM
Ok... Actually this is built since several weeks, but I tweaked and changed it several times until I felt, now it's ok... So join me on a ride through the secret world of the trolls on "Northern Lights", DK's first INDOOR-attraction in the Fairytale Kingdom park section...

The entrance and queue
As often mentioned here in the forum, the better the queue, the better the ride...

Just behind the castle and it's plaza, there is a wooden bridge takeing us to the entrance of Northern Lights.

The small plaza in front of the massive building is themed as a mix of castle and nordic influence.

There is a gateway taking us into the world of northern lights and into the building... Choose the normal or fast pass queue.

The queue is themed and influenced by a nordic little village in front of a castlewall which acts as the station...

The ride
(https://i.imgur.com/r9aspuY.jpg)
Northern Lights is a family type ride, pretending to let you ride trough a snow landscape...

It for sure starts like that, and nobody yet thinks of the secret soon to be explored...

Nobody expects the purple fairy to appear and unlock a gate of stone...

...a secret fjord is to be found with its funny residents...

...they are shy but fun...

And after this magical experience again a gate brings us back to our nordic world...

A last turn before heading back into the station.

The ice fairy reminds us to "keep the secret"...

The track passes behind the exit path of the ride, which flows trough the little houses behind the queue...

The exit and souvenir shop
(https://i.imgur.com/eiyjJa9.jpg)
They feature a small souvenir shop in the exit lane...

From a small alley directly to the souvenir shop...

Welcome to the Trollstore...

...and back outside...

That was Northern Lights... Hope you like what you see! Appreciate your feedback!
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

That is incredibly gorgeous, CSL!  Your little characters are superb and so is the scenery, and the shops with authentic names even.  And I like how peeps can entertain themselves with snowball fights while waiting in the queue :).

Given how cold it is outside and how warm and pleasant the troll hideaway seems, you'd think the trolls would open up to tourism, offering a winter vacation getaway and becoming rich in the process ;).

This update looks fantastic, in all meanings of the word- Fantastic, as in: made really well. And fantastic, as in: evoking a world of fantasy. The warm glow of the lights mixed with the snowy surroundings makes me feel good inside. :)

Love the snowdrifts in the passageways. If this were a ride in the real-world, people would be tripping over the snow and there would be a never-ending flood of lawsuits. But that's part of what makes these games enjoyable: We can build whatever want, whatever looks best, without worrying about what would happen in real-life.

The souvenir shop looks perfect for this ride- starkly Nordic, but warm and cozy at the same time. All-in-all, a perfect family-style ride.

Actually that park section is still empty (no rides yet) and I had to trick a little to get the people walking into that part of the park...

Great new update. Glad to see you're working on this again. I love the Oriental architecture.

Somehow I completely missed the Northern Lights ride. It was a pure delight. You captured the Nordic theme perfectly. I really love this park.
Thank you so much Shyguy! Yeah I want this park to continue, but until now I haven't used any TMT assets yet, as I'm really not sure on the impact on performance, which already weakened so strongly in the last weeks with pure ingame builds... I'm thrilled by your perfect architecture in WBB - what you do in there is so clean and amazingly good looking (size, color, etc.), but for me it's really hard to get good looking buildings sometimes and I was rebuilding things several times... the clock tower I've built at least 3 times until I was half happy now and the Bazar Café was and is still undergoing further changes...

A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

Thanks, corkscrew. Believe me, I struggle too to get the buildings looking the way I want them too, and sometimes have to re-do them as well. Your work is outstanding, and as I said, I love your work. As for TMT items, just check to see how big they are. Many are around 1-2 MB, which shouldn't affect your lag. But some are HUGE, and I avoid using those items unless it's something that I might only use once in the park. If it's an item that you think you will be using a whole lot, then as I said, make sure it's no more than 1-2 MB.

Making the park ready for the visitors waste... :D

low poly and only approx 500kb...
Two versions (waste and recycle) with four different patterns painted on. Fully flexicolor with four different color parts to choose, giving endless combination possibilities...

Since I built this I so much learned how cool the flexicolor feature actually is, giving the builder so much freedom...

Testing two color versions in fairytale kingdom part...

A rather exotic color pattern on the entrance part... Would better match into an oriental park section...

The classic green ones...

Thinking of further logos...

By the way, in each of those is also an ingame waste hidden, so they can be used correctly. Just being placed over an ingame waste.

A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

The purple & gold combination looks like it would fit into an Arabian Nights themed area (or ToonTown :P). Clever idea placing these over the existing trash cans. Maybe one day users will be able to make working trash cans (etc.) so there will be no need to 'double-up' on the polys.

I would maybe dress-up the entrance to Expedition Island though. It's a little bare. Perhaps hang stuff from the sign. ropes, cable, gas cans, etc.

Thank you all so much for the fantastic comments!

I was not so sure about that Atrium, it was actually an experiment if the white 4m ingame pieces which form the front will work and look good enough...
I'm not too much happy about the 4m grid size in game, as I think its an unreal, much too big wall (floor) height, compared to reality...
@RCT D, the reflective floor piece used is the one in my workshop (TMTK). In case you want it, you can find it there. :)

Definitely no experiment is my new train bridge. It's built (almost) entirely from my beam set...

JP, wowman, cody, Fisherman and shyguy - thank you all so much for the fantastic comments!

The layout of Expedition Island is set... Actually I've had built a nicely smoothed B&M inverted coaster for it, but it did not work for the concept of that park, so I've decided to completely build and design a new coaster as the main attraction for that park section... Building process has started and will progress over the next weeks.

So here is a first look at "Steam Mountain"...

A somewhat elegant train station welcomes guests for a journey on the Steam Mountain Railroad.

The three levels of the paths help to emphasize on the huge size of that coasterstation.

Guests are ready to board the train... Don't miss to catch a look out of the window to see Expedition Islands train station far behind...

Leaving the station, the track follows a small steel bridge, crossing that river and heading for Steam Mountain... ;)

My favourite views in DK always point towards the castle as the centerpoint...

More pics of that ride coming soon. Hope you like what you see - love to read your feedback...
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop :)

I love how the train goes over a bridge as it leaves the station. And another great shot of your castle in the distance. :)  The design of the castle may not be practical in the real world, but in a fantasy park setting like this, it looks perfect.

This all looks as gorgeous as always. I love the station.
Can I make one suggestion though? The bridge over the river looks a little over-supported with them being so thick. Have you tried losing the middle support?  I think it would look more balanced and even more elegant with just the two.
And I agree with you about the view towards the castle. Truly beautiful and magical. :)

Man, Nemmie, thanks so much! You always inspire so much... and you are so right! The supports were not good for such a purpose, so I did a complete re-"supporting". Took me a while, but now I hope you like that one better... :D

Thanks a lot PatrikV. The creativity often starts flowing thanks to the inspiring by this amazing community here!

When is this going to be available in the workshop?
Oh thats not easy to answer... Building now over a year on it... Maybe I will put up the Expedition Island as a separate parkfile sooner... Planned are four sections - the centuries avenue, which certain things need to be finished and I want to rebuild... The Expedition Island, which is around 75% by now, the Fairytale Kingdom, which is around 50% and the right park section which is at... well 0% :'(
So for the whole park it will unfortunately take some time...

WOW! Love it, love it, love it!

The tunnel entrance with the lava is brilliant. I can imagine that being really exciting on this coaster too.
Thanks so much Nemmie! Yes, it looks somewhat exciting, but the train is at certain speed at this part, so the riders will not notice, if they don't look carefully... ;)

Ahhhh that would be amazing, that is my favorite part. I would love to play with it

EDIT: Oh and btw there is also the option to upload your current version and update the file whenever you like. Thats what a lot of the big planet coaster creators do with major projects that will necessarily never be "finished".

Post by: corkscrewloop on August 23, 2019, 01:02 PM
Wow, just realized it's a long time ago, since my last post, so I thought even though there was not so much work done recently, I have to come back with some new screens...
I had a little break from Planco and in this summer since it was so hot, we could not run Planco and a computer at home, it was just simply too hot...
So I used that break also to gain new ideas and thinking about other stuff...

However, whenever I start up DK again, I always think that park still has some potential so I should continue building further... Meanwhile also my computer mouse problem is fixed, so finally work can go on... So here are some new screens... Many of them are aerial, so you can zoom a little in to see some of the details.

Steam Mtn. gets in shape... The park train takes a trip around that attraction offering a nice view.

Some place else work continued also:

The dwarf mine coaster on from fairytale kingdom received some cosmetics on the mountain structure. Here you see actually the access to that area from the central plaza when bypassing the castle on the left hand side.

Testing the ride and checking the second lift hill... Whenever the coaster is close to paths, safety fences are required.

We can walk through the castle, but of course we can also bypass it... This last shot is taken from above the dwarf mine coaster, actually park guests never get to see this view... If you look close you can even see Centuries Avenue far behind. Btw. the blue fence is made from the beam set...

Hope you like what you see... Appreciate your feedback!
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop  :)

The first screenshot (Rainforest River) looks great with the lush vegetation along the banks; I wanna go on that ride!
In the third pic, I like how you used all sorts of different railings and 'gingerbread' on the buildings.
And that Steam Mtn. shot is the epitome of themeparkishness.
I love the mountains and castle spires poking up over the trees in the dwarf mine coaster screenshot. It really draws you in. And that's a great looking safety fence next to the dwarf mine coaster.

Thanks a lot, JB! Honestly Rainforest River is not themed yet, just track and vegetation... Still try to gain some inspiration for the themeing..

Thanks so much, wowman! The same goes for me for your amazing Renée Feu park! :)

Yes, but setting the scene, which you have already done here, is more than half the job. :)  It would be enjoyable to just drift through that lush jungle even without the wild animals, Mayan temples, or dinosaurs (whatever the theme ends up being).

And that last screenshot: Oh my. It's like the "...and they lived happily ever after" illustration at the end of every fairytale. Beautiful and serene.

That last screenshot is so beautiful. The composition, the colors, the lighting. Just perfect. It would make a great postcard.

I just want to squeal. I love this park so much. Every update is a gift.
I always look forward to each one and always get excited when I see you've posted something new.
Also, that first picture is perfect. It looks like it should be a promo pic for Frontier.
Title: Re: C.O.A. Dreamland Kingdom - Ice's Boutique!

Spoiler (hover to show)

Welcome to Ice's Boutique

There is a lot going on in Dreamland Kingdom, but much not as finished as I like it to be, so that it could be showed. But one thing I'm also working on is improving the Centuries Avenue, especially with building more interiors.
And such a thing is finally there and that's the "Ice's Boutique".

As part of the confectionery shops in DK, the lovely character from northern ligths attraction (Ice fairy, seen here on one of the pics - https://www.shyguysworld.com/index.php/topic,20644.msg470662.html#msg470662 (https://www.shyguysworld.com/index.php/topic,20644.msg470662.html#msg470662)) received it's own little shop, named the "Ice's Boutique". This shop adds more versatility to the shopping experience for sweets and candy.

Lets have a look at it...
Window shopping... The Ice's Boutique attracts with great (or large...) window decoration.

It's the only building in rose color on Centuries Avenue, and therefore very popular visible.
The window grid was built with the "beam set", but other than that all outside parts are done with pure ingame pieces.

The interior was built entirely from ingame pieces also, except the usage of my wallpaper set which helps setting the atmosphere.

Strolling time... Evening view from the oppisite side of the street.

The integration of that building into the building front.
Inside there will be indoor passages towards the other two buildings on each side.

So I hope you like what you see... Appreciate your feedback!
A lot of greets, Corkscrewloop  :)

Ice's Boutique looks very much like a Disney Main Street shop; it would fit right in. I'm not sure what's in those blue and white cones, but I want one. :)

I'm seeing a very minimal amount of TMTK content (save maybe for those awesome awnings! :P) so it's extra impressive to see such beautiful interiors and exteriors being done the "old fashioned way."  The display racks in particular are extremely creative, I had to look hard for an extra second to see how they were done.

Bit late with my comment, but need to say you always put a smile on my face. :)
Wonderful interior again, I literally have a sweet taste on my tongue just by looking at the pics.
How are cork, screw and loop doing by the way? Haven't seen them for ages ;)
