Thank you again for the post Cody, I enjoy reading these :)

1) i don't keep track of announcements concerning theme parks (unless you call a zoo a theme park). If I visit one, I'll check their website to find news.

2) I'm looking forward to more spare time. The project I started to post about is on hold because I don't have the spare time. Playing once every 2 weeks ain't much.

3) I'm not sure I understand your question.  You refer to large tv screens? If that is the case: I find them annoying and out of place.  I find they  add no value to a theme park.

4) the craziest thing I ever did was build a rollercoaster, added custom music to it and upload it on YouTube. It was nice to try it out.

5) I would try to create a DLC based on waterfalls.  But how it exactly should take shape is not clear that in my mind.

Wonderful progress on the park Shadow! I hope you dont mind im grasping some inspiration from your park for my own. :)

I tried to create a stalactite cave (with lights). I noticed however that every column has to be seperate, else it combines to a massive block. Which takes the idea away. Does anyone have any tips / suggestions?

Wonderful wooden coaster!
I sure would like to ride that one. Even reach out to touch the trees while riding the coaster! Though i doubt my fingers / hands will enjoy that  :D

Hello Cody,

A very nice weekly ambassador edition this week!
Concerning the weekly contest with flowers: Is this trial test already live? Or has it yet to start? Or am i to late? I might see time tomorrow to create something with flowers.

1) What is your favorite water ride?
I dont have a favorite water ride. In all those years ive only been in 2 water rides as far as i can remember. The wild water ride was the most exciting one since it doesnt let you face forward all the time.

2) If you were the manager for the day, which theme park would you manage and why? What would you do?
Hmm, a difficult question. Ive been in very few. But i would like to manage a park which has a maze. Or build one! Sure love them; never can have enough mazes!

3) What is one theme park you would like to visit and why?
Walt Disney. Never been to one. Its quite the trip from here and its not a day-trip i take easily.

4) Have you ever spent extra money in a theme park (upcharge events)? If so, what was it and how did you feel about it? (review)
This question I dont understand. What is an upcharge event? Is this a concept that is pretty common these days in theme parks?

5) What is an example of good guest service you have had/witnessed in a theme park?
Funny example: a just bought ice-cream was bumped out of my hands. Received a free ice-cream after. :)

Wonderful intro to your park!
I never played parkitect but I really like the colourful look, it makes it bright.
Keep up the great work :)

Wonderful to see this park. You create space and a cozy feeling at the same time. That really works for me.

May i ask: that 4th picture, the interior one. Did you create the wall using a trellis? Or is that part of a DLC package? (which i dont own)

Very nice! I absolutely love the new area
Thank you Salad Fries :)
Im noticing i find it difficult to feel when a building is done or when it still could use some adapting. Yes its all a matter of perspective and everyone has a different opinion. Its me not being easily satisfied with what i create.

At the moment im trying to create a small cave-area with pillars coming down from the ceiling. (not sure if there is a proper translation for it in english) I have yet to discover if its possible in the game to be that precise but i will give it a try.

A fantastic looking trailer DwarrenIce; thank you for creating and showing it :)

Wonderful pictures Corkscrewloop!
That 'expedition island' picture makes me eager to check whats beyond the corner. It creates for me the right amount of suspension.
Great work!

I havent build this coaster yet so i am not able to help you out.
I hope someone else can give you the advice you seek.

I like the concept idea. Since you are talking about 'run the sequence' i assume it must have 'triggers' and such. I havent really used them yet.
And just 1 day between offering the competition and the deadline? That seems a bit short to me.

1) what is some advice you can share?

The replies above give the proper advice: take your time. I know from my own experience i like to create things that are near perfect. That takes time. And i dont always give myself that time. I get impatient and like to see progress instead of just having ideas (yes, i'm human). So start simple and see where it leads you.

2) when it comes to beating creator's block, how do you "kill"it? (i do not know a better choice of words)

I search on the internet for advice and pictures. And when that doesnt work out i put the project aside and continue on something else. Spending time on something that feels forced usually doesnt keep it fun.

3) have you ever seeked help from another member? how did it go?

I have asked for help. Feels weird in the beginning to ask for help with an idea that only exists in your mind. But i found out that there is a lot of knowledge and friendly people on this site that is willing to share ideas and thoughts.

What, you actually read that?!?!?!? :)
As a matter of fact I did yes.

Finally a small upgrade on the track ride. I spend time creating the largest building. In my mind i had a picture of a castle with columns but i couldnt get it quite right ingame. It isnt finished yet, neither on the inside or outside. But thinking that the final touches still can be made, i wanted to show the basic layout.

The pictures give a nice dark, atmospheric vibe. I like it :)

"1. What is your favorite part/feature of PC (or whatever game you are currently playing)?"

So far it's the advanced x,y,z gizmo that lets me place objects as I see fit.  It plays havoc with my ideas and what I can do

"2. If you could add one feature to the game...what would it be...ONLY ONE!!!?!?!?"

I don't really have a preference. There are so many things I have yet to use or make use of in PC. Though thinking of it: I wouldn't mind a feature that lets you add randomly created foliage. That would so increase the diversity.

3. How many different sites/pages/social media links for Coaster gaming do you regularly participate in?

Just this site. I used to be active on the rct:w forum but since that game stopped working for me I'm no longer active there.
This community is active, let's me learn and participate.

Questions from my side:
1. Are you using the steam PC workshop?
2. Have you ever regretted throwing away an object you created / were building?
3. Do you find feedback on your ceeations important ?

I don't feel my creations are ready for advertisement. Besides that I have yet to figure out how to use billboards/ screens or create a video in-game.

Wonderful atmosphere Shadow! My compliments for sharing these pictures and park with us :)

Question: which online bookshop sells your background story?  :D
I find it fabulous! Really enjoying the story progress. Would like to see more :)

I agree with Salad Fries. It's a great looking park. I especially like the picture where the coaster gets close to the trees :)

I like how spaced the area is.  Leaves room for themes / green areas.
The western area is my favourite so far; keep it up!

Though I'm tuning in for the first time, seeing the park just finished, I'll do my best to read up.  I certainly like what I've seen so far!

Many thanks for your extended reply Bullethead! Thats information i can and will use to my advantage. Much appreciated  "bows"

I hope to post an update this weekend.  Time has been in short supply last week.

@Shyguy: the picture was posted in the thread 'what did you just do in planet coaster' . And thanks!

@Bullethead: thank you :)
I don't have any other programs to sketch my ideas with so paint will do.  I thought I was showing my age when using that program  :D

@JB: you can't see it well but on top of the barrels I put a wheel. So it can be used as table. Well that was my idea.
Also not seen is the 'bar' I'm trying to create. It's in the corner behind the car on the left.

I have no idea if guests start to complain. I read that track rides are general low in popularity. Hence why I thought it might be to long / slow. I left the speed at 5 so perhaps I can alter that.  And thanks!

Planet Coaster Parks / [WIP] Sherwood Forest

Well, here we are then. My first post about my 'hopefully soon to be opened' park Sherwood Forest. After much thought i took the bait and dived into the world of creating and maintaining a park. And at the same time share it with you all. I really enjoy reading and looking at the input thats been given here in all kind of threats. I learned alot from it, remembered some good ideas and tried to mix it with my own.

Why now? It started tickling when i created some buildings next to a small river and posted a picture of it. Scenery is all nice, but why not make it useful? Soon the idea of adding a track ride came up and thats where i am now:

Is the picture that made me consider adding a track ride to it. The idea of guests sitting in a car looking around enjoying the scenery was the start.

But i didnt want to just start building. Been there, done that. And it usually fails for me. This time i wanted to do it differently. With a map. So i opened a pre-historic drawing program called paint:

though very simple concerning lay-out it gave me enough ideas.
Some explanation:
Red : track
Dark brown : buildings
Light grey : squares / market area
Dark grey : track ride station
Green : foilage / rocks
Dark blue : small river
Light blue : (frozen) waterfall
Black : path for guests

Then followed the actual track lay-out:

Nothing fancy though there is the thought in my mind it might be to long already. Not sure though, so any advice is appreciated.

And here are 2 inside pictures from one of the buildings while i was creating:

Certainly not finished, but the bigger part is getting there.

Please feel free to give advice / suggestings / ask questions. I will do my best to continue and update this track and park as we forward.

Really good job making the banks of the creek look realistic ;)

Thank you.  Adding a car track-ride through the buildings and scene is an idea in my mind to give it more meaning.

A picture of the scene i'm building:

Thank you for this tutorial! I know figured out how to lighten up windows  :)
