Just remember, if there IS flooding, you can't blame me this time because this water is coming from an entirely different direction :P  [natural disaster humor.]   :whistling:

Never hurts to be overprepared and underwhelmed rather than the other way around.  Glad everything is holding steady for you so far, hope it stays that way and hope you stay safe.  But by all means, get drunk when it's over.

I was fortunate enough to take a ride on BH's new and improved Tornado Bobs, and I concur he did a fantastic job.  (I thought the original was good too but you definitely feel a difference in the onride.)

Why won't the new shops next to Feltman's last long?  I love historical accuracy but I certainly hope you don't plan to burn this place down!   :'( :scared:

As JB noted, I did have to duck a couple of times as we were exiting interior structures, but I certainly wouldn't change a thing.  This is a fun track that is fully-themed every inch of the way.  (I literally had to pause and rewind a couple of times so as not to miss details.)  I also like keeping an eye on the background during POV's to see how much of the park is visible, and there's no evidence here that you had to get rid of anything else in the park to get a great framerate on the video.  I really liked seeing the monorail train moving along in one of the scenes.  I'll be coming back to this video again and again for examples of how to theme a ride.  Outstanding all around.

And this park is on the workshop?  Well there goes my day!  :D

These are both fantastic additions to the "must-have" custom flat rides for kids on the workshop.

And speaking of kid-spinners, I remember a lot of helicoptor, motorcycle, and truck rides from childhood.  Still trying to figure out how to make ANY of those things for a custom flat.

SO well done!!

Is it hard getting all the targets set up to function?  I'm still at the point where I'm trying to get the track to spin the cars in the right direction and actually face the displays properly when they stop.  It's time consuming!  :P

I love the ghost pirate statue in the queue line...  your attention to details knows no bounds!

Impressive new coaster... original for a PC coaster and great supports.

Really like how this park is continuing it's growth.  I'd love to see a recent overhead to compare against my memories of your original release.

That signage turned out well.  Anxious to see this in the park.

I agree, the citytrader version of this attraction looks much spookier.  Fantastic use of billboards.

I'm just happy the new attraction has air conditioning.  It's hot out there.

Ditto to what everyone is saying about the architecture, especially in the first photo of this update where you see the  staggered front layers and elevations of the 3 buildings side by side.

Great map, not just the presentation but the organic park layout as well.

Great ride!  Despite the vertical drops, it never really seems to get TOO crazy.  In fact, I really like the gentle intro where they casually go through the enclosure.  Well done.

Thanks, everyone!!

Well, I'd really prefer spending most of my vacation down at the beach so I can go home with the kind of tan that doesn't fade away in 3 days.  But I figured since I'm here, I should probably spend a little bit of time checking out the park above that I helped build.  Before they fired me.

I can tell you that the parking lot hasn't grown much, no visible changes up there, or the main entrance.  So I started with the astronomy themed section (we never came up with a name for it) because I knew there was at least one new thing to see in there.

Turns out, they came up with a name.

The Galaxi is gone, can't say I blame them, an old coaster like that would hardly be much of a draw for a park like this.  The small footprint didn't leave them with a lot of space to work with, but I guess going with a standard out-of-the-box El Loco isn't a horrible choice.

^^I'm not sure it's a good idea for them to leave that kiddie hopper in the same location now that it's directly under the last overbank.  Seems kind of dangerous.  But hey, not my problem anymore.

Not much else in the area seemed changed (I guess it's only been a year), but I did notice a Cosmic Cow in between the new coaster and the observatory.  Cosmic Cow seems to be the new Dipping Dots these days.  Here's a shot of the whole area that I took from the ferris wheel:

Curious what this would look like at night, I used my day pass to get some more pictures before bed.

The new coaster is called "SuperNova" and there's a big orb at the top that lights up with a few special effects.  While riding, I did notice what looked like a couple of other new coasters at the far end of the park, so I guess I have a reason to come back again later in the week.  Assuming I can find time between drinking at the beach and recovering from drinking at the beach.

Amazing job.  How you perfectly sculpted those pieces into the exact shape is astounding.

Well, I do love that you're doing one, and I like the theme you've chosen for it.  I'm trying to add one now to my Lake Jeronimo park and I'm not feeling the creativity or the patience for it, so I will once again be turning to you for inspiration.

JB:  I really think you need to go stand in the corner now and think about what you've done.   :mad:up:  :P

I DO have ideas, in fact, I think you spoiled it yourself in an earlier post :P

oh, that old thing.. :P   No apology necessary, you showcased the truly talented builders and their creations (Wagi's buildings really stood out to me when I was touring the park)

Last weekend I was honored to hop into citytrader's time machine and see all of this up close.  [So glad you posted the overhead, because I don't think any of us realized just how big this project had become...]    This is truly a landmark project, and the way so much of it matches up with actual maps is just staggering.

I had to take a couple of pictures of my own...

Here's to hoping your summer allows LOTS of time to keep adding on to this wonderful piece of history.

Sorry for the thread bump, but I just spent the weekend binge-ing on Stranger Things for the first time.  Loved the show, and then immediately came back here to look for this thread.  Did you ever finish the upside down ride, or maybe at least the theming on the dark ride portion?  I wasn't able to fully appreciate the brilliance of that attraction until now :P

I agree with BH.  Hope you include lots of off-ride as well :)

Masterful stuff here, Shift.  I'm in love with the courtyard and the atrium window that gives a sneak peak at the ride below.  Anxious to see what else this ride has in store.

Well, I think you have permission now.  But I'd rather see more of Pharqueson Farms.

Now there's a building with some character -- both versions!  (although I think yours could use more signs   :P)

Needing a break this summer from the very slow motion world of Peony Park II, I decided to hop in the car and drive to the beautiful mountains of [state redacted] to revisit Lake Jeronimo Park, poised atop the bluffs overlooking Lake Planco.

The first thing I noticed however, was that it is not called Lake Planco anymore.  After years of struggling with Planco City to get the name of the lake changed, seems that somebody finally caved in.  Lame entrance sign, but good for them.

At this I decided to make the boardwalk pier my first stop.   Seems like the city had given up on this beach shortly after their initial attempts at revitalizing it with the pier, years ago.   Things have changed here as well since my departure.

Looks like a couple of buildings and 5 new flat rides, or at least rides that have been relocated from the park above, including the bumper cars.  I talked to a vendor and found out that taking on responsibility for the pier was what allowed the park to finally rename the lake.  The only caveats were that LJP had to revitalize the pier area, maintain upkeep on the pier and the beach, and keep the pier and beach free of admission.

New ticket booths and an entrance gate have been added to better differentiate the "free" from the "paid" sections of parkland.

And look, new chairlifts!  The ones that were here when I left were secondhand from an old ski resort and had an extremely low capacity.

There's also a new seafood restaurant at the foot of the bluffs, just behind the pier:  "Upstream Grille"

I walked out to the end of the pier to try and get a panoramic shot, and noticed that the old Galaxi coaster up in the park seems to have been replaced with something.

I'll check the park out another day.  For now I need to go check into my hotel, then maybe come back down for some sun and seafood.  I've got plenty of time to kill, Peony Park II isn't going anywhere...

Before I scrolled down to end of the text I thought "this park deserves better than that entrance," and lo and behold your brain was already there.  Excited to see what you come up with.

DEFINITELY capturing that county fair / small town vibe.  Your chairlift station looks exactly like what they would build in that setting.

But the dandelion theming really owns this update.  I did not see that one coming.  (And of course I enjoyed the storytelling as always.)

Bring on the next chapter!

That's not bad for 5 hours, I might've spent twice as much time and to much lesser results.

This is good news, was hoping to see you come back to this project this summer.   :D

Congrats, my friend.  You did the impossible.  When the game said "stop! I wasn't made for this!" you pressed on and took NO SHORTCUTS.  So many 360 degree interiors, ceilings, every single detail.  Lots of stuff I don't remember from the thread...  the 2 story arcade!  The new targets in the shooting gallery.  You didn't skimp on backstage stuff either.  The city sidewalks are functional, as appears to be all of the pathing in this park (something I tend to get lazy about.)

I've only spent about an hour here so far, rode a couple of rides and then decided that I would either wait for a new computer or extract them individually in a separate park, because every attraction here deserves more than the 3 FPS I'm currently able to give it.  (But it did not crash my computer, even on exit.  That impressed me :)  )

It was nice to finally solve a few of those "how did he do that?" moments.  I could go on, and I probably will after another few visits.  But again, so many congrats on this historic accomplishment.  You are certainly now in the Planet Coaster Hall of Fame, as though you weren't there already.

Phenomenal.  I won't even ask how you did all of that because my brain still wouldn't understand.  Take a bow.
