Community Chat / Re: Visiting a park in the dark?
« on: Yesterday at 08:58 PM »
I love being in Disney parks at night because they are even more magical. I do enjoy watching Magic Kingdom close from a theme park view at Bay Lake Tower, that is the most relaxing sight knowing I don’t have to fight to head back to my room!

^ I like how your 'organic' border compliments the Ent-like tree creature. It's nice to see you posting again, Elizabeth. :) I think you went 'on hiatus' before I registered here in June. But I've been a lurker here for years and I've followed your contributions to RCT3 and the SGW community.

cody- Speaking of borders, I like the endless omnimovers on your card. And of course, the well wishes of 'Little Leota'.
Thanks JB! The omnimovers were created my senior year of high school in 2016 using Adobe Illustrator for a project, and I wanted to get crafty/spooky with the border. The omnimovers were seen in a poster showcasing the many vehicles within WDW, and I tried to recreate it. Good job on yours and you too Elizabeth!

Thanks. I was told by someone in a Theme Park Game group on Facebook to come here since some of the old sites I use to frequent and post my RCT creations on closed down. One being RCT Depot. Thanks, I am trying to improve on everything I do as far as theme park and roller coaster design and architecture goes. Planet Coaster is what I'm aiming for right now. Just wait till I start building in Planet Coaster, you will all be blown away (my creations will be on the level of this guy on YouTube called Silvarret)!!!!!! Maybe I'm the next Silvarret? LOL...
Anyway, if there's anything I need help with, whether it's No Limits 2 related or Planet Coaster related, I shall let you know!
I am actually in that group as well, I post all of my screenshots there so I can grab them for my personal Facebook album. Makes me glad to see some members of the group come to SGW.

I saw someone talk about The Weekly Ambassador and how it should return, so I wanted to give the definite dates and make sure it is known that it is returning. Probably going to do a “park visit” each week where I find a park in the forums and try to act like I really visited it. I have a few ideas to make it a little different than these posts. I am going to research the old Weekly Ambassador and see what worked and what didn’t.

Miss seeing you around Elizabeth!

Welcome to Shyguy's World. We are one of the prime destinations for theme park simulation games. I really like your nolimits creations and I did look through your portfolio to find the RCT3 creations. Good work on everything you have many talents it appears and I know you will be a great member to have here. If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns please do not hesitate to contact a member of the SGW staff. I cannot wait to see your works!

Okran looks awesome! I do like the creative use of the name/translation. There is definitely color unity with Okran and the surrounding area. Please keep doing what you are doing because it is amazing!

Good evening everyone! This post includes a few very important points in regards to the future!

I would like to thank everyone for their support for my absence. I am somewhat back to a normal life, and a fresh week is just what I have been needing. I am going to try to keep up with everyone's posts as much as I humanly can, but please do not take offense if I do not comment instantly.

Tomorrow is the deadline for the Halloween Competition that uses Planet Coaster and RCT. You will need to create something original and not already existing. I know I had plans to use one of my parks, but rules are rules. Please show off your scary style for this competition because it will be fun!

SGW does have a Halloween theme. If you are used to the seasonal look you can find it on the home page in a drop down menu. Another way to get in the spirit is to change your avatar to something spooky or even just a costume! There are many ways to get in the Halloween spirit so definitely try these things out!

Future plans call for the Weekly Ambassador to return on January 4, 2019. The final Weekly Address post will be December 28, 2018. I am going to have the due dates on Fridays with a "make-up" on Saturdays. I know I have been doing Sundays lately, but that is expected to change soon.

I will continue to work in RCT3, there has been a big topic about the activity in the RCT Games Board. I for one do not intend on quitting anytime soon. I have too many projects to just get thrown away, so I am planning a ton of posts to get more activity in both my creations and the overall board. I know Planet Coaster is planning on user-generated content. I do have mixed feelings about this, but we will just have to wait and see. That is an entirely different argument that I do not plan on creating.

Overall, there are many plans in place for more activity, as well as bring back what was successful. I hope everyone has a great week! Happy posting!

Weekly Question(s):
What is your favorite custom created content (if that is worded correctly)? What is something you are waiting for to be created?

I'm sure a lot of you remember the Weekly Ambassador.  That was a great way to bring exposure to threads and projects and I think something similar would work wonders as it could promote RCT, PC, Parkitect, NoLimits, etc.  I remember it was a huge boost to me as a creator every time I was featured and the few times I was given nods as the headliner and my park was on display on the home screen. It was something to shoot for.  Every time I posted a new project I anxiously checked to see if I was featured in the next issue.
The Weekly Ambassador is slated to return next year!

To better fit the wide variety of theme park games, I moved this topic to the Community Center.

I think Elch makes a good point in post #14 above. It shouldn't be about the specific game that one is playing, (RCT3 vs. Planet Coaster, etc.) Rather, what was created in that game (whichever it was). More people need to poke their heads out from their comfortable forum-of-choice and see what is being created in other parts of SGW. I like to think that my Imaginarium thread is more about the presentation and story. It's not a RCT3 park, per se, it's just a park, period (plus some other stuff). It shouldn't matter which game the park was created in, or in which forum it appears. If a thread is entertaining enough, it ought to transcend the forum boundaries. I look at, and comment in, people's threads in the PC forum; even though I don't have PC. I'm hoping they'll return the favor (a few do indeed comment in the RCT forum, and I thank them). It's the neighborly thing to do.

I think Disneyland's version of Main Street is a classic. The WDW version is much much larger and a bit more crowded. We also do not have some of the restaurants that California has in Main Street. I watch many food vlogs and always find myself wanting to go to Disneyland even more. I do like the smaller scale of Disneyland's Main Street. I feel it does give off the feeling of a small town a bit more than the WDW version. Amazing photos shyguy!

Fun & Games / Favorite Halloween/Scary Movie

Okay, here is one that I may not be able to answer on the scary side. My favorite movie for this season however, is The Tower Of Terror.

Fun & Games / Favorite Halloween Candy
« on: October 10, 2018, 08:31 PM »
To keep us in the spirit how about some Halloween candy? I think many might agree that when Reece's Peanut Butter Cups are in different shapes they are even better.

Full/King size candy for Halloween is always a must!

Well, I guess I can get real crafty on this one. CUE THE EVIL LAUGH!

Thank you so much everyone! The services are tomorrow, since the storm as passed. With this natural disaster I have gotten some free-time from the educational stress. Tonight is my creative night before tomorrow, just incase I have to get crafty in any part of the services. It has been just a chaotic week to where I just had to say what is going on so everyone knew there was a reason for my absence. This community is one of the best for every aspect of making sure its members are successful in their personal endeavors. I am always available to chat on both here and Discord. I have the Discord app on my phone so it is an instant notification to where I can respond as quickly and efficiently as possible. Messaging on SGW, I try to be a little more "formal" (ewww gross), but either platform is great for communication. Again, thank you guys so much I am very grateful to be here.

So will I be able to use an existing park, but just an "exclusive" shot?

I think some of these ideas are great. Earth is definitely on to something that showcases the popular creations across all games. Elch is taking initiative as well, you guys are both great members I look forward to helping you both as we make SGW bigger and better across all boards not just our region.

I can only imagine the lines for breakfast. I better get a reservation now, even if it is a quick service. Creative idea, in my personal storyline that would fit in Mickey Avenue!

The Haunted Castle looks awesome! I would hate to get stuck in the attraction, that would be a scary situation. Amazing job as usual!

You made the home page! Awesome and spooktacular work!  :)

Why can't my local fairs look like this? We use a small space behind a large building that is near the county courthouse. It used to be a larger area when the courthouse was in a different area. Overall, awesome creation!

This thread works! Good choice!

Here are mine:

World Of Discovery

Disneyland Park at Disneyland Resort Dubai

Disney's Hollywood Studios at Disneyland Resort Dubai

Some projects have been rather quiet and will soon see a post. Whenever I plot an expansion it tends to get rather silent  ::). All hyperlinks to the projects can be found below!

Just like another post I just did, we need to advertise like crazy. Maybe we can hit everyone’s spooky side with a seasonal slogan, spooky surprises, and/or maybe encourage members to do a “costume/avatar” contest. There are many possibilities that we just have to tap into.

Hold on hold on, no need to cut any strings yet. I think what we need to do is “market” all major holidays to both PC and RCT. We can also reach out on social media to the RCT fan base because it is still existing. We need to also make sure those who are uneasy about posting media are able to easily do it (I know some just don’t). I also believe if we get the big names back to kind of do a “reunion” in terms of custom content creation that could be fun and draw in more members. I know I have been asked by some members if someone still exists and I tend to find myself looking them up and seeing if they wanna come and finish off anything they started. I think advertising that this region of SGW exists would be good and even hit it hard with park updates and other updates until it gets people to start looking and wanting to contribute. It is a very touchy topic to try and alleviate any concerns, but sometimes we need to just hit it hard and give it all we got.

Thank you guys! I greatly appreciate the thoughts. I am in the Halloween spirit. Everytime I go in a store I have to check out the Halloween decorations. I tell people my calendar is based on when Disney decorates, so my Halloween/Fall started in August.
