In case you hadn't noticed, our Amenable Host has thrown down the gauntlet....

shyguy's Cottage Contest

Design a cottage for shyguy. It should be fairly small and very cutesy to fit the theme of a kiddie coaster. The setting is rustic, with pine trees and rock formations, but the cottage can be any style. Think Toontown or Mario Brothers, or something along that line. Add a small yard or garden if you like.  I will choose my favorite design, and the cottage will become the centerpiece of the attraction.

Shyguy, understand that if I do this, I intend you absolutely zero personal insult ;)  What's the deadline?

Hopefully the engine can now handle a continuously moving station. So the chairlifts won't stop but move always...

This is a misconception.  Continuously moving chair lifts are SO obsolete ;).  That was the original design for ski slopes, where it was assumed everybody riding it was an adult and agile enough, even wearing skis, to handle it.  But even in the original Disneyland the Sky Ride didn't have continuous motion of the cars in the station. The cable never stopped but the cars detached from it briefly in the station.  And there have been more advanced designs to do the same thing since.  Almost every park chair lift or gondola Sky Ride that I've seen detaches from the cable and stops in the station, the only exception being the actual ski lift thing at Ghosttown in the Sky.  If you weren't up to jumping onto a moving bench, you could instead ride the funicular ;)

Planet Coaster Parks / Re: Adventure World

Thanks guys!

...
Is this going to get a POV?  Or at least a workshop upload?  I feel like I just have to experience this one.  :D

Also, how do you make those little gif's to show off special effects?  Such a clever way to avoid making people sit through a youtube video when all you're really trying to do is show a couple of seconds...

I will do a POV and I'll be updating Adventure World on the workshop when it's finished.  I'll also be separating it into its own sandbox park so the FPS is a lot smoother.

for the gif, I recorded with nvidia, brought it into movie maker to cut it and dumb down the file size, then I uploaded it to giphy. I just started doing gifs, I like how I can show a little bite size clip of a ride/scene.

Planet Coaster Parks / Re: Wonder Beach Boardwalk (shyguy's Cottage Contest)

About the pics you dredged up from your hard drive: Thanks for the trip down memory lane shyguy. That was fun. I remember some of those pics, or at least parts of some of the pics. The 3 water slides plummeting out of the temple are an iconic Water World image. And Jobsworth the Park Inspector flying through the air!

I knew Bullethead would like all the killing, danger, and mayhem. ;)

Looking forward to seeing what the community comes up with for your cottage.

I thought maybe Frontier had given the update to someone like Silvaratt to put into an existing park to show it off.

That's a possibility, but I think the Frontier 'test park' they generally use for screenshots is just from the developers end and not a guy like Silv. The stuff that people like Silv make don't get showcased till after packs release.

The next ride planned is the Shyguy Express, a small kiddie coaster. It will be set in the rustic town of Wonderwood, where shyguy owns a small vacation cottage in the woods.

Here is shyguy's cottage from the RCT3 version. I'm not at all in love with the design, as I literally threw it together during a period of un-inspiration. ;) So maybe I can get some help from the community...

If it was fake and just scenery, they wouldn't have taken down the photo. And it's very un-Frontier to give us a fake ride made out of scenery, especially considering how much work they pour into these rides when they make them.

Planet Coaster Rides / Re: Haraka B&M Giga

^This. plus, I like how the thick timbers are holding back the huge stone ball in the Haraka queue, a la Raiders of the Lost Ark. And the chamber where we see the artifacts and tools left by the archeologists during their excavation.

The music in the Aziza's passage segment matches the mysterious visuals perfectly. I'd say you succeeded with your experiments using cinematic shots.
