« on: February 08, 2017, 02:08 PM »
For those just starting out there Planet Coaster can seem quiet daunting. Compared to RCT3 so have so much freedom and control that being able to utilize it all can be hard work. most aspects of the game are more complex than RCT3 and sometimes doing what you want isn't as easy as you planned.

This thread is designed to help you with that. I'll be posting links, videos etc to best tutorials or guides I can find to help you get to grips with all the features that Planet Coaster has to offer.

If there's a particular area of the game that you struggle with or would like more information on, please leave a comment! If there's a particular guide or tutorial you have found that you want to share - here is the place to do it!

I'll be viewing all those videos, as I know there are things I still need to learn. These should be very helpful.

Thanks for this Matt.

I wonder if this topic doesn't deserve it's own category? It would be handy to have all the different tips and tricks in one area on the boards. Or perhaps at least pinned.

Please!!! It'll be awesome to have a range of tutorials in different languages. Great for everyone who plays!

Maybe. Would make things easier. Let's see how it goes though. If there's a lot of activity then we can see.

I have grouped the tutorials into playlists (see the top post) should make things easier to find :)

Custom Audio
You can import your own music into Planet Coaster to play during rides or with speakers!
Add music files to Documents\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster\UserMusic\ folder ;)

Supports many files types including .mp3 .ogg .wav .wma .aac .m4a .flac
Music will show up under Ride Customization or with the in-game speaker object

Download the entire collection of songs from RollerCoaster Tycoon! to theme your park with even more
variety of that classic RCT nostalgia music, including over 200 songs, sound effects, and a few other extras too!

As being a new board mod, I wanted to share a trick via video soon upon how to make realistically smooth roller coasters in the game, using the method that Silvarret used on his stand-up coaster, Grapefruit.

More info will be posted soon when the video does come out!

New tutorials have been added, the entire Building section has been updated with newer tutorials from more recent updates, as well as a new coaster tutorial, showing the method that allows for very smooth roller coasters!

Infinity's Guide to Ride Setup

The peeps won't ride your flat rides? Do they complain the price is too high? You need to set up the ride sequences to raise its prestige and make it more appealing to the peeps. Here's a great guide on Steam that can help you increase ridership and revenue by adding the best sequences to your flat rides.

I personally struggle with the overall layout of the park. How to place paths, where the path junctions, how wide the paths need to be and where to put planters.

Of course I could just remake aerial shots of real parks but there has to be another way...

I'd love to see a tutorial or some tips to help creating realistic looking layouts and parks.
